McCain picks a woman VP running mate? Sara Palin? Why?

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
i think it was a very good decision the one that will throw this over the top for mccain. I wonder if how gallup looks this morning

Ducky! With all due respect to you. I am not a citizen (Yet) and I know of Biden, he is a good man and solid American. How come you are uninformed about him? He is not a Johnny come lately to the Congress! He has been present and participated in almost every important major hearing within the last 10 years.
Do you get PBS or C-span on your TV? Learn all you can about your country lassie! Others outside of the US are doing just that and are trying to exploit the United States. Don't let them get away with that!

Here is how I see it:

Obama got an old, established politician, in Biden. Try to add credibility to his lack of experience, and get the folks to believe in him. Hillary would not be satisfied with being the vice president (again), so that was not going to happen. Chosing Biden makes total sense, even though I personally think Obama should stick to motivational speaking, and get out of politics.

McCain got an upstart woman to compliment his old established policitian image. This move is probably going to help him in terms of getting woman voters now that Hillary is back to being only important in New York. Palin appears to have spunk, and a good, if brief political record. She is inexperienced, but I think its a good choice. Hell, she hunts, collects rifles, is pretty attractive, has 5 kids, and is married to a somewhat regular joe (not attorney or lifelong criminal).....I say those are good things.
 
I just watched her acceptance speech.

A tad nervous being on the national stage, but looks like she has the spunk to pull it off. McCain is certainly not the greatest speaker either -- but I don't want to hire a speaker -- I want somebody to work for their money ;)

I think it looks like a good ticket...



BTW, she is a hot chick :sqbiggrin:

Oh please... Those arguments are sooooo lazy. It's like complaining about someone having a Catholic background. Nobody complained about Muhammed Ali or Kareem Abdul Jabbar...

As for "true American", notice that Richardson isn't even facing the flag - what an un-American thing to do!! :sqeek: Also, this was NOT a picture taken during the Pledge of Allegiance, but WAS taken at the playing of the National Anthem (who knows at what point the picture was taken - right before the music?). If Obama is "not a true American" because he doesn't have his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, then on any given night, there are THOUSANDS of sports fans who are definitely "not true American" because they don't place their hands over their hearts, either. But no complaints about them, huh??

During official swearing-in ceremonies, newly elected members don't place their hand on any book. However, individual members may choose to carry a sacred text.

"Some members carry a Bible. You don't actually put your hand on a Bible. I can't see how anyone would object to carrying a Qur'an," said Senate historian Don Ritchie.

In Congress, the House speaker administers the oath to members en masse on the House floor. It's up to individual members if they want to hold a religious text, said Fred Beuttler, House deputy historian.

First-time members are more likely to carry a sacred text or have their family and religious leader present for a staged ceremony in the speaker's or their own office, Beuttler said.

I don't see how that proves it wrong.

Nothing in there says he did not have the Quran with him when the oath was taken.

I have no problem with any religion, hell, if he was Pagan and want to carry around the Satanic Bible, go for it.

What I have a problem with is the fact that he can not keep the story straight as to whether he did or didn't do it.

They are not running for the highest position in the free world. That's the difference. I want my next President loyal to this country and it's (Christian based) principles. But, that's just me.

There is nothing more loyal than a soldier who has been killed in the line of duty, one who has returned home from the battlefield maimed for life. He/she did not run for a position, he/she willingly took that position to defend this country. I'd rather have my fellow man be loyal than a politician. The fellow man is going to be around me for life, the politician will come and go! Just my two cents.

From what I have read, his record on standing up for Veteran's rights is not a good one! The Dead Soldier is still unquestionably the true hero! He/she made the ultimate sacrifice.

Funny that he isn't the one changing the story. He wasn't sworn into office using the Quran - that is fact. Just the same as no senate member is sworn into office using the Bible.
