Al,

Looks very nice!

Now that's being revolutionary!

Way to go!

ek, you should set the sub on the floor, it doesn't have to be in the center but it should be on the floor. The height of that stage makes me think that it would put the woofer at the perfect height for major bass freq. cancellation. I had it happen to me once and learned my lesson. I had tons of bass on stage but zero on the dance floor. Seriously, I'm talking nada!

The funny thing about the Sub that Night is that I never turned the Volume
up (acident), my 15s on the stage gave me enough bottom end. I noticed
when tearing down the the volume was all the way down (6o'clock)This party
(In another post) had bombed the last few years and everything I brought
was for esthetic reasons. Really wanted to Impress.

I will keep that in mind for my next gig!
Have another Party, same location this coming Saturday

It's a substitute for a larger video show.
I run Visuals, ticker, and videos on it.

When doing a full up video show, I place a 6x6 video screen between the tripods, and use rear projection.

I'm going to the same place Saturday,
The hall manager (Old High School Teacher) rented my Lights (Christmas)
setup from me for the Rest of the Season.

Anyway, he stage is about 4 ft from the dance floor
Should I be Dropping the Sub to the Floor?
Would anyone else do this type of Setup?

Okay....our gear hauler....

Btw, Tyrone, you do a nice job with your setups; neat, symmetrical, functional. Hats off. Besides, you go places we won't fit!! lol (the systems posted are our only 2 systems)

I hear ya about not using all the lights. This is nowhere near all of our lights or equipment, but we have to draw the line somewhere! 50A of 220V plus 2 120 circuits seems like plenty.

What do you do with the power once you get it? Do you break down that 50A 220 down to multiple 100V circuits? Custom Distro box?

Geez, after seeing the REALLY BIG RIGS in this thread, I'm almost ashamed to post. Oh well, guess something's better than nothing......so here goes.

These pics were from the first holiday party I did this month.

The first pic is of the rig from the dance floor, the second is my view behind the console.

And to run power to all the lights, I had an electrician buddy of mine custom build a distro panel for me.

There are 12 individual 30 amp breakers.

He designed it so that I could either tie in by pigtail, or with a 3 blade adapter or 4 blade adapter. The box is extremely clean inside. Parts for the distro came to just a little over 300 dollars and I gave him 500 bucks total for his trouble.

Enjoy.

Yeah, we have a distro. We take 50A of 220 and break that out into actually 2 220V distros. One of our distros is built into a dimmer rack, the other is just an individual panel. I have pics at the office I can post sometime. The big DJ system right now will trip a 50A 220....we run a couple wall circuits as well to prevent that.

We do have a 3 phase distro too, but it's a bit much to find that access for most dances. For production jobs (lots of lighting) it is a necessity.

It's suprising that more DJs don't have at least basic distro boxes. Even with LED parts, scanners and such use a lot of power.... and tapping 220 would be really helpful.

It's also interesting that you can't buy something like this in home depot... Maybe not 3-phase... but basic breaker box with a bunch of 110V outlets and a single 220V feeder.

So if I understand right, this distro is plugged into a 220 v outlet (stove plug?) giving you (in Sparkieg's case) 12 circuits to play with?

Do most halls and such have 200 available...If it is, are we talking plug and play?

Are you guys putting a 50 or 100 foot cord on these to bring the distro to your set up....

I know an electrician...I may inquire to build say a 6 breaker distro....
