I wanted to share some inexpensive items that I utilize as Equipment Aids/Tools.
1. The help keep my laptop cool I use this rack which I bought at the dollar store. It is very sturdy and helps for air circulation, not to mention being able to route cables underneath. Cost $1.00

2. A simple banana rack can be used as a headphone rest/holder. Cost $1.00

3. Various Cosmetic cases can be used to transport small items like Hard Drives, Headphones, Connectors & Patch Cables.

Actually you can get a spool of twisty ties where you cut off whatever length you need. I forgot to add that.

No! But every time I put my headphones on my head it makes me want to climb trees!
 
alright folks this is something I have been waiting to see. Sharing tips that help us maximize profit. During the tough times things like this will see the strong survive. Kyle Ive used the velcro strips and made my own lengths for many yrs and yes bought at the dollar stores ever since they opened. My dollar store has little note pads which are typically provided for shopping lists. Yep you guessed it. They make great request list forms.
 
Well, mine is a little more expensive. I bought one of those Stanley rmobile job chests for my speaker wires, electrical cords, and adaptors. It ran me about $50 but was worth every penny.

I use a tackle box as a tool box for storing the smaller tools (screwdrivers, wingnuts, card holder, cable ties, etc). Before it became my tool box, it was my makeup box a few years ago for a theatre makeup class. And yes, it still smells of powder!!

I used a Seaman's Chest (Almost look like a flight case) speaker wires in the bottom and electrical cords and connectors on the top tray)
 
I get my disc cleaning fluid at the dollar store "Tri-sonic" used it for years and it works great. I also go there for party giveaways.

You can get 5 foot personalized vinyl banners from Oriental Trading for 12.99. Larger for slightly more. Also great for party giveaways. Sandals are my trademark- I wear them year round. 12 enamel on metal Hibiscus Sandal necklaces ( metal chains) for 9 bucks. I give them to the ladies a "a little piece of summer". They ADORE them...


10x10 foot pop up canopies for 19.99 at National Wholesale Liquidators after rebate, 49.99 at Cost Cutters...


My "rack" is a modified dual shelf bought at the K-mapart store for 19.00


Friends gonna throw away a bunch of old discs? GRAB those babies and restore 'em. May or may not work on all, but there's nothing to lose, and who knows what cool music you'll end up with....

See old electronics out on the curb somewhere? The average consumer will throw almost perfect stuff away due to a 5 cent problem- AND there may be discs nearby.......


Last, but not least: Do NOT drive bigger than you need, especially now. You may even think about trading down. C'mon. Still think the land yacht will make the chicks dig ya? :sqcool: You can save HUNDREDS per MONTH this way.
 
I'm a stanley mobile chest guy too....

I keep extra shoes, food, extra clothes, extra socks, towels, soap, shampoo, hair product, extra laptop, a pillow, 200' of tree climbing rope, harness and ascenders (for running cables in a gymnasium, or other such situation) a blowtorch, first aid kit, cordless drill, drywall screws, drill bits, door shims, a slimjim kit for unlocking cars, AR-15 & box of .223 ammo (can't keep it in the house by law because wife does daycare), hammer, step stool, cables, duct tape, cameras, wireless gear, notebook, frisbees, hula hoops, limbo poles, etc.. weller bench soldering iron, set of screwdrivers, tennis ball with cord attached to it(for running extension cords up and over ceiling truss etc.. easy up tent, trash bags, tarps, and baby wipes.

there's probably more in there too, but I go in it so infrequently, who knows...

this stays in the truck, but contains damn near any emergency gear I could ever need.

of course I never need any of it (except for the unlocking tools.. I use these so often it's not even funny) I've saved many a bar patron's night, and even a few reception guests with this stuff)

actually, I recommend everyone buy one of these today!

you can open any car in like 30 seconds...

With gas going up, up and away, I can't emphasize the importance of basic vehicle maintenance:

I just had the van tuned up... new plugs, filters, throttle body cleaned; real basic stuff. The mileage on my Dodge van went from an average of 12 MPG to about 14.5. Still not great, but a LOT better than I was getting. (My most recent highway run netted 15.86 MPG, I used to get about 13.5 on the highway. It all adds up!)

Check tire pressure, replace your air filter, avoid the short trips to get one or two items. Above all, SLOW DOWN!!! Keeping it to 65 and under is the easiest way to increase your mileage! Your wallet will thank you!
