SEO keywords for an "oldies" website....let's have 'em.

OK, what I have so far ( and, BTW, not that I understand a bit of this SEO stuff ).....

1. Dance
2. Oldies
3. VFW Lodge... Elks...
4. Party
5. Local town names
6. Disco
7. 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's
8. Fund Raisers
9. Family
10.... Different Band Names
11. Themed Events

Any other ideas?
 
too many key words spoils the SEO.

new Google algorithms (in effect since 2007) encourage 10 or FEWER Key Words in your metas.

The "old" way of having a bazillion key words for every possible scenario of search terms, has given way to a "new" method of having a select few POWER WORDS.

Power words are the ones used in 98% of searches in your area:

they would be (for Papa) : Philly, DJs, disc jockeys, PA, oldies, sock hop, Philadelphia, music, dance

Any more than these? Sure, go ahead and do it (but it will reduce your position in SERP for more important terms).

Focusing on my "Power 10" will get you to the top of:

"Oldies dance Philly PA"
"Sock hop DJ Philadelphia"
"Philly dance DJs"
"Oldies DJ in Philadelphia"

and of course would still be tops for: "Philly DJs", "Philadelphia Disc Jockeys", etc.

You would know.... Now, if I can actually get a website up and running.... :sqerr: I had Hank make the graphics and I am CLUELESS! :sqeek:

I know if I'm searching for something I'll search say "pest removal 33852"..I cannot be the only one who does that.
