I'm at the Hermitage Hotel tonight (Sunday). Very posh room and very small group tonight (less than 20). I did 12 cans uplighting and am using the new Peavey IPR3000 with 2 18" passive subs. I've only cranked it a few minutes and the coverage is worlds better than that 15" EV sba760. I covered a tabletop in black felt, then set it on top of 2 pieces of foam (to de-couple the subs from the table) on top of the subs and put my rig back into a DJ capsule. Kinda hard to tell but I finished it off by making a hinged, 12" section as a front cover. I've yet to see the peavey come anywhere close to peaking (hitting DDT). I'm thinking this rig is going to suffice for most of my jobs. Here's a shot:

Care to elaborate on this statement? If I am reading this correctly, are you saying you covered the subs with a felt tablecloth?

I cut a 5'6" X 24" tabletop out of 3/4" plywood then covered it with felt. I used the subs as table legs with foam in between the tabletop and the subs. I then took a 12"X48"X3/8" piece of plywood, covered it in felt then hinged a couple of wings (felt covered) off it to hide the stuff on my table. It worked very well and I'm pleased with it. I also did some uplighting and cake spotlight. The room is completely covered in dark wood so the only thing to hit are the curtains. I put out a dozen cans, 2 per window. I also used a Slimpar56 to spot the cake. Would appreciate any comments.

BTW, a little background. This gig was originally booked for 50-80 and was my first paid photobooth, along with full uplighting package. The bride called me last week and said they were out of money and asked if I would cut it down to a basic. Truth be told, I think they had a ton of cancellations and ended up with only 18 there. They'd paid me $700 so I let it go at that. I did the uplighting as a P.R. move with the venue folks (they noticed). I also noticed the photog got cut down as well. He didn't do any of the reception. I ended up taking extra shots (yes, for free) but made it clear to them that "I'm not trying to be a pro photog". The bride was gushing by the end of the night and kept talking about how far beyond the call of duty that I'd gone. Maybe it'll pay off down the road.

OK gotcha. Say what you mean not mean what you say!

How come you are covering one corner of the dance floor/room? Your pics don't lie. I would have moved the speaker on the right hand side of your booth (Facing you) over to the right side of the Landscape Painting.
