Would you drive this to Vegas?

Given the economy the way it is and falling gas prices, if I go to Vegas, I will be driving. It is only a short 950 miles from my house and I have every year for the last 10. The question is, would any of you drive this to Vegas, again, if you had the chance?

As some of you know, This photo was taken on Fremont St. in Vegas. My other choice is my Chevy Suburban which gets twice the gas mileage as Herman. Herman is 34 y/o and the sub is only 5....

What do ya think?

Yes, I would drive Herman ;)

Even though it may be well taken care of, old vehicles are unpredictable and unreliable I'd drive something newer.

Always carry enough spare parts in the trunk ;). With modified cars you never know but my trip to Houston on this things was a blast :D:D:D:D:D I even drove past a Highway Patrol car while I was accelerating at ridiculous speed he never moved, of course he would have never caught me :D:D:D:D:D

And by the way, the car has never broken down, all my spare parts are now stored in my garage in Houston, but if there's a road trip back in they go ;)

950 miles way too far for me. I will fly anything longer than a 3 hour drive.

Well where I live it's 3 hrs to the nearest airport.

You are right about old cars....I hold my breath for 16 hrs going and 16 hrs on the way home. That's a long time with no air. :sqlaugh:

Sorry I would get too wet if I had to drive...

UPDATE!!!

I took Herman out for a spin this past weekend. I had tires put on and oil changed but the hard fact remains...I am not sure or maybe don't trust that Herman might not make the trip in one piece. He is old and rusty and getting older and rustier with each passing day. Looks like Herman may have to stay home this time. In fact, I may have to let go of the family friend soon. He is a money pit that keeps on begging for money. Who knew????
