Looking at buying a couple wireless transmitters/recievers for my uplighting. Here is my thinking. If I buy one reciever for each group of lights against a wall (no doorways to pass) I could run cables to the remainder of the lights on that wall (eg) four walls - one transmitter, 4 recievers each controlling 4 to 6 lights. Does anyone do this or know if there is a problem with my logic?

Thanks, Dean

Should work fine. Most wireless DMX setups are merely replacements for a cable segment. You'll still be limited to DMX limits and your controller limit.

I do this all the time. I actually just brought home some adj wiflex yesterday. They were broken/defective. I am going to try the Chauvet d-fi2.4 on Friday. I will check back in on them. I normally used city theatrical wds, but there getting old so it is time to re vamp.

i think the adj wiflex is a poorly constructed product. There's a reason they only have a 1 yr warranty in my opinion... because on day 366, they fail and they're pretty good for just a dmx cable.

There is no problem with doing this. I've run 20-30 lights, which were wired with a wireless received at the head unit. The Chauvet units have been very good and I've got 2 generations of them. My main beef with those guys is that gen1 is not compatible with gen2. Just make sure you buy more units than you anticipate so you'll have extra capacity.
