Wireless DMX problem

I have been running wireless 2.4 for about 9 years, and not once have I had an issue. I never run the default "out of the box" first channel available, so maybe that helps.

Rick, I am surprised you were having issues with the DFI. It's been very reliable for me. I have every DFi type of product out there. The USBs, the XLRs, and the built-in DiFi in the Freedom Pars. I probably have 400 gigs on them...

You can't transfer an experience in one RF environment to another. It's not even an urban versus rural concern because you can't predict how the band is being used or the age of systems deployed in any given.

It would take from 16 - 22 Mhz of separation to avoid ANY kind of interference. All of the 14 channels in the 2.4Ghz band overlap and the age of the device is significant because older devices are more likely to occupy the full width of any band.

The D-Fis worked okay. I had a couple of gigs where I had to fiddle with them due to some interference. I also noticed that different versions of the D-Fis were not compatible with each other. The Donners have been, up until now, extremely reliable and foolproof. Now, nothing seems to be working. My next step is to see if hard-wiring solves the issue. If that works, screw the wireless, especially since these are perm-installed. This one really has me scratching my head.
 
All DiFis are compatible with each other, maybe your USB got damaged. Either way, I have had great success since they came out. I run multiple transmitters at a time too. Do you still have your Difi gear, I would be considering buying it from you.

Chauvet has been branding products with "DFi" for about 20 years. Lots of stuff that would not be compatible with the latest incarnations.

The Chauvet units I had were pre-DFi (my bad). It was an earlier version they had that was a rectangular box. Those most certainly were not compatible, even from one version to the other. They also were not very reliable.
 
k, that makes sense b/c the DIFI is some of the most reliable wireless DMX out there.
 
BTW, to update you guys on my issue, I've decided to hardwire and ordered a batch of DMX cables today. I've also decided (for now) to take my movers and Acrobats off DMX control so (again, for now), the only thing using DMX will be the uplights (hard-wired). I'm also quite curious whether going hardwire will have any (hopefully positive) impact on my myDMXGo connection issues. If this helps, I'll likely keep using myDMXGo, at least for a while. If it doesn't, I've also figured out how to do chases on my Chauvet Obey 40. Don't laugh, it's actually pretty effective and drop-dead easy.
 
Knock on wood, I'm still very happy with myDMXGo. Everyone once in a while I have a preset get finicky. For instance, if I have my preset for my uplights to be solid green. A couple of them will flicker another color. When I go into the fixtures tab and look at the specific fixtures, the slider is flashing really quickly over that specific DMX channel. I click on it and it drops to where it should be. Unsure the cause.
