Looking for a reasonable wireless DMX controller (hardware or software based) for some simple uplighting functionality.. change colors, chase, strobe, auto. Plan to use mostly with my uplights (already wireless capable) and perhaps move into other fixtures down the road. Any suggestions?

Great to see you Ron. I have had good luck with the donner plugins using my DMX controller.
Run my movers & uplights wireless with the doggles. Lots of configurations to meet your needs.

i use blizzard ecliose dmx software... super easy to use, especially for uplights only, but appears to no longer to be sold. However, the blizzard eclipse was just a rebranded mega-lite disco software/dongle so you can still buy theirs. I've yet to find anything as user friendly.

What wireless uplights do you currently have? The Donner systems works directly with some of the Chinese branded uplights and should make setup easier.

I should have included that in my initial post. The uplights are the Rockville Wedges.

I use the Rockville Rockforce W2 Wireless DMX controller with my Rockwedges and the Best Par 50 uplights. It took me about a day to figure it out and get scenes programmed. It also works with my mini moving heads and Venue lighting products.

I do agree that if it's your first time programming scenes to bring a couple of lights into your living room and play around programming. You will want to take into account fade times, strobing, and how to get in and out of scenes from your DMX software.

That is how I started programming. Take notes on program assignments and scenes.
Never understood how intelligent lighting needs so much work?? :djsmug:
DMX512 protocol should work on any dmx fixture.

I guess because I'm still new, I still do this. Especially with my wash fx hex's. I like to form different "patterns" with the 6 lights on each unit, so I have to label them left and right, and play around until I get the right sections lit up LOL. I really wish you could just download fun light scenes from somewhere on the internet. I'm using ShowXpress with a chauvet usb dmx box that I plug my rockville wireless transmitter into and that sends the signal directly to my rockville wedges. I have the rockville wireless receivers for my wash and dance lights.
