Who has LE-14s LED Pars cans?

LE-14's aren't they the one from VEI? are this the one with plastic housing? I'm in the market to purchase a few but I'm hesitant to purchase something with plastic housing.

Yes, the LE-14 is from VEI (Visual Effects, Inc).
They are the METAL housing fixture. On inspection they seem very sturdy. No loose parts, etc.
I just picked up 8 of these lights for $99/light.
Let me get the manual out & see what's what re: the DMX channels...

Where you get them from? the only person I know that carries them sold out the same day he got them.

Sir DJ : I have 24 of them purchased from Bill at ESC for $79/light (quantity discount) plus $6 each for his custom built wooden mounting boxes/stands (a MUST have and better made than the fixtures).
The DMX on these is absolutely STUPID!!!
Where everyone else's brightness is full open at 0 and dark at 255, these are reversed. Where everyone else wants all red, you slide red from 0 to 255. Nope, not the L-14s. You need to put red at 0 and blue & green at 255. I have no idea what the f these Chinese engineers are thinking, or if they even can.
The haloing effect at lower ceilings (8' to 12') is fairly obvious but blends better at higher ones (15' and more). They are very bright, light weight but they are Chinese built which in essence means the worst materials and craftsmanship on the planet. But as it seems all leds are Chinese no matter where they are assembled, so what's the difference whose brand name is on the crap.
Then again, what do you expect for $79 bucks. I got exactly what I paid for.

I think you reversed the specs in the first sentence.
So these are full bright at 0 and off at 255, that's crazy. I guess they look at the slider as a dimmer not intensity level. I remember so older amps called the volume knob an attenuator, and wide open was 0.

Steve: Yes, for what I'm using them for, they are sufficient. I've run into issues with Freestyler DMX software profiling. I can get one string of 24 lamps to jump through hoops but the minute I have more than one DMX fixture channel assignment, it goes whacko. I'm so sad.

I'm assuming that being meticulous as you are that you brought it up to the person you got them from?
I like the shape of the LE14's just like the Jamstars.
Is there any other light around the price range with that sort of shape? I'm not a big dmx programmer but would like to setup steady colors for the uplighting with the dip switches.

SirDJ : I did a hands on review with a groups of folks and the biggest issue or concern was brightness. Can the light beam reach a 20 foot ceiling?
Second issue was halo effects.
Third issue was construction.
Fourth issue was portability.
Last issue was price.
No matter whose you buy, figure at least 1 out of 10 having a problem. So far I'm at 3 out 24. One - dip switch defective (the singular biggest issue, the cheap bastards), one - one lamp's bank of blue LEDs flicker after about a half hour of operation, one - simply didn't light up...period.
The dip switch setting are going to give maybe 8 to 10 colors and two brightness settings (medium and bright), inherent limitations with RGB and dip switch.
I am not disappointed with my purchase but I am surprised at how new software DMX is to our levels of operation versus major stage concerts and show events.
Another friggin learning curve, dammit!

As I'm looking at the stage setup, I notice 1, then 2 LED par cans - They look just like the LE-14s. At the end of the concert, as the stagehands are beginning their break-down, I go up to the stage & ask the one woman by the pars what manufactuer are they? She asks, "How do you know about LEDs?" - I tell her I'm a DJ & am using them for uplighting - She was estatic! Now from the outside, they look like the LE-14s. I'm talking EXACTLY. The only difference is that the VEI version has an 8mm LED & these are a smaller, 96 LED can. But it uses the same external casing - DMX ports are off-set, dipswitches & even the shape of the bracket - All identical.
So just throwing this out there for grins & giggles.

I bought two the other day and now they are back ordered.
can anyone email me the frestyler fixture file for these. I am clueless on how to reverse the settings.
