Who built your website?

I did mine too - although its currently under construction. I had several that I was designing and maintaining awhile back.

Who is this guy "Me" and how do I hire him?
Actually, I also designed and coded (built) my own site (actually, three of them).

I designed and built my first website which was very good to me. After being in the biz for a number of years, I wanted to re-do it but didn't have the technical expertise to bring my vision to the screen so I found someone who could. How did I do that? I surfed many sites until I found one that I liked and contacted the person who built it. I'm sure I drove my web-person nuts during the process but they never let on and I am thrilled with the finished product.

I wish I could say that I built my site, but I paid WAAAYYYYY too much for it to get built by Hit Web Design. I wasn't even initially satisfied with it, but I was so tired of going back and forth with them... I settled.:trisad:

It's all relative to what you make off it...

For example, I built my own latest. I also kept track of the time, since I did it in about 2 weeks (14 hour days).

If I had invoiced out for that job, you would have paid over $25,000!

Yer probably saying to yerself -- what a Sheen nut job. That's ok though, because I know how much I made off it (so far)... ;) :)

I sell multiple products and services, so I don't expect most here would put that kind of money into it. But, a few thousand for a decent site, is reasonable, considering you will probably make that back 20 fold in one year. It's either that, or do like I did, and do it myself, and eat the time as a write off :)

Rick, I don't disagree there, BUT what is the best way to learn how to build sites? I know there are many variations of learning, so just give me what you think is best. The problem for me is that time is so limited. Between wife, kids, business, career, grad school, etc... no sob story, just giving perspective.

Having said all of that, I considered taking a class at the local community college, but just never go around to it. I am just living with the site for now. I do have a friend that will do some edits for me but everytime I get around to doing it, I have even more changes that I want done...

HELP ME ODJT...:triconfused:
