I recently purchased a wireless mic setup (GTD 787 HL), which comes with two handhelds and two headsets/lapels (I'm waiting for it to be delivered next week). I have never needed a wireless mic setup until now and I don't know how often it will be used. I got this GTD setup because of its versatility.
With that said, the current mixer that I have (Numark dmx6) has one 1/4" mic input. Thus, I will be able to control the four mic's with one volume control. This might work for me or it might not--I don't know yet. How many of you use one volume control for multiple mic's? What are the advantages/disadvantages? If I need to have individual volume control for the four mic's, I would need a different mixer. Which brings me here. I would like to have the mixer close to the same size as the nunmark so it can fit in my cd road case (I guess something less than 12") . There are three that I'm looking at and would like your input on which one to get. The three mixers are: Phonic AM 440, Peavey PV8, and the Berhinger Xenyx 1202. Is one far greater or are they very similar? Are there other mixers?
