Here pickings are very slim I can rent a mix of small stuff when needed none being brand or quality that I would like. Other than I can get a Mackie Mixer and Any of the QSC PLX amps.

No Lighting, No Decent Powered Speakers, No Decent Powered Subs, No good Dual 18"s.

If I had something big I have a sound production company that will rent me a nice Turbosound system if I ever needed something really big.

Is there anyone out there that rents to us DJ's with a great selection? I have a wedding coming up I would love to get something like 2 EV Zxa1's with wireless transmitters. I would love to be able to get stuff that I don't normally use at decent price and just figure it into the event price.

Seems like someone could make some $$ if they were to do this.

There are a couple of music stores here that cater mostly to bands and sound companies. They'll lease a FOH rig if you need it.

Not so much for DJ companies. It's been tried a few times around here but didn't last long. DJ companies are not big spenders. ;)

In my area no not really. I'm pretty lucky myself. I know the pro audio manager at our local GC. He is pretty cool he would probably tell me to buy the equipment and then return it. So that it would probably cost me nothing. But I have also spent alot of money there.

I do that a few times a year. I purchased a ton of gear from them over the years.

Where I live we have the maker of Yorkville so we can rent almost anything that Yorkville makes. THey also rents lights and musical instruments.

Same here as Zinc. Long And McQuade and Tom Lee Music will rent a full system for less than 100 bucks and its not Pyle either it might be a Sennheiser or Shure or even an AT Mic with a Mix 2 or even higher end mix setups along with Yorkville, Mackie and other speakers. They have lights and controllers etc. you could do a gig and clear a decent wage with no upkeep or storage costs. When in So Cal back in the 80's there was a place doing this but their prices were so high you couldnt get a system with lights for less than around 500 bucks. Its likely why rates are tough to exceed 1000 here.

We have Charlottesville music with a full rental room speakers, amps, mixers, effects etc. (Peavey)

Stacy's music (JBL, Fender)

Hines Music (Ev)

Plus two small sound companies that will rent out just about anything you need!

Culpeper Music (town to the North of me) will rent out most anything you need as well!

I can get "most" things I would need, but it's just shy of 50 miles one-way for me to pick it up.
It's a small store but they do some good sized production work and have a warehouse full of their own show gear that they'll rent out...'taint cheap though!!

Gear Rental

Here is a sampling from one of the places that rent gear. They also have a real nice sales showroom with lots of nice brand names. Take a look at the prices

I have a Sam Ash store about 5-6 miles from me, and I do believe they will rent equipment. I havnt tried it, but, I think I heard someone talking about it when I was last in there.

Cam
guess we're luckier here in the Eastern part of PA.
we have a local music store chain that rents gear (3 locations!)
plus another store that works exclusively with PA and lights
as well as a GC store.
and the Concert Production company I work for can get me anything I need.

Actually, doing my nephew's wedding not far from you in September.
rather than take my chances with rental gear or trying to FIND decent rental gear
I am renting a HUGE van to carry my equipment, as well as my family and our suitcases.

I have a local guy that rents Behringer and low to medium end JBL stuff......great guy, and cuts me a deal whenver I want to rent or buy. Soundman is the name of the place, here in Klamath Falls.

Plenty of places here to rent anything I need

specific lights, extra wireless mics, amps, speakers, karaoke, game show units

I basically work with 2. Empirical Sound and Vincent lighting.

very professional companies that specialize in renting this stuff.

I have a full production company within an ear shot of my house. I can get pretty much what I want when I need it. And the pricing is good as well.

I have a sweet 16 coming up in February that I am working with them on. They are going to deliver the sound and lighting, set everything up and strike it for a very very reasonable price.

I find myself doing this more and more on bigger shows, being old and lazy I just don't like setting up gear for bigger shows anymore, when I can just walk in plug up and go!:triwink:

Well, we have several AV rental places that rent gear, but most is not really DJ gear... Like i doubt I could find a DJ mixer, but I could get other styles of mixers, for sure.

I know I can get amps and speakers, but not sure about quality powered speakers.... fortunately I have one of each set.
