Where do i get gaft tape or something else for a clean setup?

or you can use cardboard; that works great on thresh holds......

I don't see the need and time to spend covering cables behind a facade. That is the purpose of a facade anyway. Most of my cables are pre wired into my rack anyway, only the speaker cables come out.

Aside from the true Gaffers tape being easier to come up I don't really see a difference in the $12 rolls or the 99 cent rolls from the dollar store. You are only pasting wires down
 
Then your dollar store carries some great tape.

Gaffers tape is usually different in two areas: adhesive and backing. The backing is normally cloth or cloth blend to rip easily and have a low sheen finish (unlike vinyl). The adhesive is usually a releasing type, leaving no residue. Important for keeping cables clean, but more importantly for limiting damage to the surfaces the tape adheres to. Duct tape will sometimes pull paint off of surfaces or damage fabrics/wallpapers if needed to be run along them. Gaf will normally not.

I did notice some residue from time to time but as far a ripping I never had a problem. On a permanant install I always use the good stuff but to hold wire in place for a couple of hours the chea stuff alwas worked for me

I use chewing gum!:D
 
Try local AV rental companies. Here locally, they run about $24 for a 3" roll. I find 2" is too small to tape multiple cords down, and 4" is just ridiculously big.
