The caterer is willing to produce my menu (I offer 4 categories) at $15pp. I have no idea what they make in profit. I will tell you, that's pretty equivalent to what he's charging in his restaurant and that's at 1-2 persons per ticket. At my venue he's selling 100 plates at a time, so I would think it's pretty attractive. As for my part, I charge $25pp. For a 100 person event I'm making $1,000 for contracting the food.
Thanks for explaining the difference between what he charges and what you charge.

I don’t know how much Galician be expec

careful Mix will tell you you’re ripping people off for making $1000 for doing nothing

The lady who does my cakes also offers catering. I would love to work with her but she doesn't think I should make more than $2-$3 per person so she quotes just under what I charge. She doesn't realize she will NEVER get my business doing that. I simply must make some kind of profit for any service I'm contracting.

I got to say that I can understand why those other caterers decided to raise what they charge from $15 to a bit more because I say how could they afford to stay in business only charging $15. So at a charge of $15 their profit could only be bare minimum.

Let's look at it this way. When you do an event as a DJ don't you have a price to do an event that makes it worth your time to do the event?

Now with this caterer what can people get for their meal with the caterer charging $15?

You always ask what do they get for a price, as if a higher price gives you more. Sometimes you get the same stuff… just the quality is better, hence the higher price.

Taso my point was that those 2 caterers couldn'tcharge $15 to make it worth their time to caterer these weddings. I mentioned the menu to see what you get for $15? My guess is a burger and fries. LOL.

The guy I'm using has a tiny little restaurant that might hold 15 people. A lot of his business is take out and his average plate is around $15 (Italian). When he does an event for me, it's likely that he's selling more plates (average is 100 guests) in that 2-hour window of time than he does all day in his restaurant. Frankly, I don't see how he makes a living but apparently he is and I'd venture a guess that the mobile catering is a positive in his book.

Mix think about it this way,
you can get a hamburger at McDonald’s for $5 it’s food and tastes ok
I had a hamburger last week at a somewhat fancy restaurant on a lake with great views fantastic wait staff, served on nice dinnerware, the cost for that burger was $36, wagu beef fresh never frozen plus the ambience and upscale service of the restaurant.

In the end they are both simply hamburgers, I felt the $36 one was a way better value

Tunes4046 I'll bet the quality of beef in the $36 burger is better than the one in the $5 burger. The old saying is usually true. You get what you pay for. Sometimes you can get ripped off and pay too much for something.
