I have a small SKB shuttle case with an American DJ MCD-500 and Gemini Mixer in it for my primary back up. I think it was around $500 total.
Then, I have a CD Mix 1 I use for ceremonies and such. Like Steve said, no anti-shock mechanism at all, so I it use it wisely, but it has never failed.
