Nobody mentioned Anne Murray, either. Probably for good reason.

I couldn't pick just one song. Here are three favorites:

"Soul City" - Partland Brothers
"Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" - Glass Tiger
"Life Is A Highway" - Tom Cochrane

I was born in Springhill, Nova Scotia the hometown of Anne Murray. Still get a lot of requests for "Could I Have This Dance" and it fills the floor.

BB Gabor - Little things
Rough Trade - High School Confidential
Teenage Head - Wild Child
Prism - Spaceship Superstar
- Take Me to the Kaptain
- Open Soul Surgery
- Young and Restless
Triumph - American Girls
- Rocky mountain Way (killer version)
BTO - Roll on down the Highway
- Let it Ride

Randy Bachman and Union - Mainstreet USA

Trooper - General Hand Grenade

Colin james - Surely
- Cadillac Baby

Berton Cummings - Own Way to Rock

Aerial - Up in the Air

Sweeney Todd - roxy Roller

Matt Minglewood - Dorchester
- Rocket
- highway to Your Heart
- Me and My Baby

Santers - All Right Now (another killer cover)

Street heart - Action
- Under my thumb (better than the original)
- What kind of love

Harlequin - Innocence
- I did it for love

Lightfoot - sun down
Wreck of the edmund Fizgerald

Stompin Tom Connors - The Hockey Song

Rush - Spirit of Radio

Ah Mr. Minglewood, who can forget sneaking into beer gardens underage to see Matt sing. The good old days.

I'm partial to his version of "Can't You See."

Bryan Adams - Run to You

Tragically Hip - New Orleans is Sinking

Michael Buble - Save the Last Dance for Me

Blue Rodeo - Try

Blue Rodeo could have been huge if the management would have worked hard to get them more into the States.

Excellent choice Mike (Can't you See)......Ah...the Metro Club....the old days....

On an unrelated note: has Jason taken the plunge and gotten back into dj'ing on his own....I have some gear I could sell him....

He took a p/t job operating the board at Newcap's radio stations in Moncton. Last time I spoke with him, the subject didn't even come up.

All that experience going to waste, plus I know he loves Dj'ing.

How the hell did I forget about Corey Hart? "Never Surrender" has been a personal favorite since it was first released.

I'll choose that over "Sunglasses" any day... Thanks!

So many artists and so many songs, it's really hard to decide....

I am partial to Pat Travers, "Heat In The Street" & "Hammerhead" though. :)

Neil Young has a lot of tunes that I really like also.....:sqwink:

The US has been blessed with the talents of many fine Canadian musicians, singers, songwriters and bands... :)

Time to get a little newer guys, Wide Mouth Mason is probably the best under rated Canadian band, The Trews rock, Billy Talent, Diemonds. There are so many great Canadian bands right now.

young...

If you're going to do Pat Travers (or maybe you want to do him) it's got to be "Boom Boom Out Go the Lights".
