What is cheesey or mediocre DJ?

To many ads? Support ODJT and see no ads!
I just don't see how any of this "request" stuff makes a DJ "cheesey"

to me, it's a DJ that not just tlaks too much, but it's what he says and HOW he says it.
its the DJ who says something like , "Hey! is everybody ready to party" six or seven times.
A Dj who plays the Hokey Pokey, yells at everybody to "jin the fun" and then wonders why no one does.

that kind of "chesey"
 
Cheese is in the eye of the beholder. Some think playing games at weddings is cheesy. Some think that playing line dances is cheesy.

If your client wants games, play games. If your client wants line dances, play them. If your client thinks a fez is cool, wear a fez (the Dr. Who fans will get that one).
 
getting to grips with you guys,,
a cheesey dj plays tried and tested stuff..mostly old...party anthems...
it's hard to explain but here in the uk there are no cheesey hip hop or r n b as such...and you'll be hard placed to find a cheesy tune in europe that is either r n b or hip hop...
i could rhyme of a rake of "cheesy tunes" without batting an eyelid..it has nothing to do with mic work or hands in the air shit...lol..
for an example...
abba ..dancing queen..is top cheesy tune in uk..
on mainland europe..europe...the final countdown..is a top cheesy tune...
and i'm sure mr tuck will agree as he has worked in these areas.

It's not just cheesy tunes - it's really a cheesy attitude, sort of cartoonish to a point. Picture a 60's plaid suit, coupled with a cowboy hat, super large sunglasses, and someone screaming "Yowza" and you're coming close.
