Ahhh, you guys (damn, I sound like my twin brother Fred) :sqlaugh:

Alright, I'll do it live, and start a countdown to booting my Vista box...

Ok, 45 seconds, and that included starting up ESET Security, and having XM radio online.

Alright, hang on, I'll start up Linux in a window...

34 seconds.

Sorry guys, you lose -- talk to me when you have something better...

Would buy a Mac in a heartbeat, wanted one for years, but just havent broken down and purchased one yet....all my friends are going mac..I think thats my next purchase.

From personal experience, Dells are Crap...never had nothing but problems with them. Have returned them 4 or more times under warranty. The next time one breaks, I'm taking the info off them and out to the garbage bin it goes.

I personally own 2hp laptops, 2 compaq laptops, 2 dell laptops, one emachine lapttop and one hpdesktop...out of that one 3 stay home. The rest are on the road. Guess which ones are home lol...the pieces of crap.

Now if they can give me an awesome program to work with (that wont crash...) I'm sooo mac.

The Inspirons are the crappy Dells. From what I've been told, the Latitudes are the good Dells.

The thing with Dells ~ they're pot luck. One might be great, another might be a POS.

To keep their costs down, Dell uses OEM components in off the shelf machines. One can pay a bit more and cherry-pick components but most puter buyers don't do that.

I have 2 Dell Latitudes, and they are the cat's meow :)

One sits under my desk closed (it's attached to an external monitor and keyboard/mouse). It has only been turned off twice in the last 3 years ;)

The other was a Vista Beta tester (courtesy your tax dollars, for my "extra" gov't work), and is flawless as well.

YMMV, but my experience has been excellent with the Dells (and I have a few Toshiba's that work almost as good as well, but are a bit heavier).

Hey guys(and beautifull Ladyes of course)!
In this faze i ask a question.I see that many of you(you too Rick)own a lot of laptops and dont use it for many reasons.
How much money is around us in stuff we dont need or dont use?(uufff-good one)

Way too much!

I buy tons of stuff to use to test software, then just throw it in my storage room :sqerr:

I could easily setup a few DJ rigs at this point in time, and I literally threw out a dozen or so computers in the dumpster last year. I offered to give them to a couple places, but nobody wanted to come and pick them up :sqeek:

I'll stay with XP and how I have it here....
