lol Joe this is excatly what will happen to all the newbies that think doing all these shows in the first few years and try to run as many shows as he can will go thru

they come and they go

but what I do to avoid this is I change what jobs I do all the time..

truck driving, photographer, video work, limo driver,
glazier (done that for 3x years), forklift driver, Sals Assistant, retail training
back to school to do computer training
now deal with computer repairs
still do occassional video wedding, and photography

this way I dont get bored and get burn out
plus if I get a weekend off......... woohoo

Dennis,

You and I are somewhat alike. I have done many things in my lfe. The difference is that I have always been involved in the Bar/Entertainment business AT THE SAME TIME- except these last few years.

I have been an Electronic Tech, an Electronic Design Engineer, a jewelry salesman, a ream cutter, retail clothier, professional fighter, self defense instructor, owned an electronic component distributorship, bar, personal security (bodyguard), VP of an adhesive label company, provisons broker, surplus broker ( still do this for extra bucks when I'm in the mood), bartender, bouncer, manager, owner, singer ( no longer viable, no matter what Rick says :sqembarrassed:), and a bunch of other stuff. Always with this biz and maybe 2 at a time. Been pretty successful at most of 'em too!

Maybe you and I just have that sort of personality..? :sqerr:

It's my job!

It is what i do for a living!

Doesn't matter if it is a wedding, Karaoke in a bar, Djing in a club, a corporate event, a 16th birthday party, a high school dance, company picnic or any other kind of gig. They all make me money and they all make me more money than i would be getting working a 9 to 5er somewhere. I don't have to wake up before noon for most of them and I don't have to go out into the sunlight.

So the answer is no I don't get burned out from weddings, karaoke or DJing in general. I am however getting old and looking for a way out! LOL

Oh Joe I forgot to add

Working in a bar as a Barman, a Bouncer, work in a record store selling music

thats extra from some of the things I said above
(I even have pics and references to prove it lol)

oh yes always kept my hand in the entertainment industry in one way or another

ODJT Exclusive: We just got this new video in, of Joe doing his latest wedding :sqlaugh:

YouTube - the wedding singer - holiday

Nah- look at my pic. I'm the Joisey Guy with the black shirt open to my crotch and 32 lbs of silver.....and I own a better mic....:sqlaugh:

BTW- the burnout for me was WEDDINGS ONLY. Not a touch of it for karaoke, or other DJ or mixed events.

For me, Weddings are pretty much the only type of gigs I'll accept. Each one is different. It all depends on how much pre-planning you do with the client.

I can't understand how guys can DJ at bars playing doing the same stuff & playing the same music over & over (and catering to barflys) for under $250 per gig & getting home at 3am.

I guess to each his own?

To each his own for sure. The only thing that I would add for DJs who don't like bars is that if it's the right type of upscale venue, once a week is the best free advertising and exposure you will ever be paid to accept...:sqwink:

Papa thats why I am slowing down now for....
i'll get another breath again later in 2009/2010

no rush
