Officially at 5:45 pm yesterday. We decided back in January for several reasons. We've had 5 showings and 3 open houses. It came down to 2 offers.

We received full price, and no sellers concession!! I also learned a little about the real estate biz..

Talk about sleep deprived, ie: Excitement, etc..

We are moving about a half hour away, from the city to the burbs.

I had to share with you.

The house we really wanted went pending Monday...We offically sold last night at 630 pm. It apparently wasn't meant to be. We will be out all day Friday house hunting. Before my event that night.

We've had some interesting comments from the people wo came to see from the previous showings, and open houses..

For example, one couple *demanded* as we were told to see it only on 1 hour notice, typical rule as we were told was a 24 hour notice...The particular couple's in-laws literally lived 3 houses down from us. Then they gave us an immediate low ball offer. Well below what we wanted and market price. We politely declined. The neighbor wasn't happy with us!

Oh well. They live in NYC and are looking to re-located up here...

Wild ride? Yeah...But we are stoked! :sqbiggrin:

But may I be the first to warn you........
Moving into the new house is no picnic either.
Best to the both of you and a serious drink is in order.
 
well where I am at present the house (home) was bought for $168,000

now if we sold it would get over $600,000
but the worst thing is that other houses that are close by are also around same bloody price either higher or slightly lower - so whats the use moving

thats it I am staying here
 
What! You're not moving to Charlotte like the rest of you wonderful Northerner's ????

Our family paid $12,000 for our place (it had a lot more than 4 acres then).


Beautiful views of the Hudson River, eagles, deer, and located right at the crossroads to the northeast, with shipping, rail and all major highways in walking distance. Unlimited fresh water, and plenty of southern sun exposure.

Zoned commercial with 500+ feet of road frontage, but has a 17 room, 204 year old brick house, down the street from Washington's Headquarters. Still have the hitching post out front, where ol' George tied up his horsey.


If you want it -- feel free to start the bidding at 4 mil :)

Dave, if it didn't mean so much -- I would in a heart beat :)

I suspect we would have a blast together :sqbiggrin:


But, I do happen to be setting upon a veritable gold mine -- can't look that horse in the mouth ;)

Capitalism aside, I get to hang out in a place where Thom, George (and possibly Ben) have been. The power that emanates from the place, is irresistible!

It's old, it's dirty and beat -- but every morning, the sun still shines, the flag still waves, and the boards still creak with the footsteps of those that founded this nation.

Somebodies gotta hang out, and protect those boards... :sqwink:
