Rent my back up system? UH....NO. wouldn't rent it, wouldn't loan it out. I would no longer have a back up system. Not professional.
You guys crack me up with your narrow views. I posted that story on either WEDJ or this board several years ago.

The fact that you just said those words about someone else is enough to crack anyone up.
Glad you will enjoy it. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. Until I see that I'm wrong, when it looks like a duck, quacks like a ducks, and smells like a duck, odds are it's a duck. I'll stick with the odds until I see that I'm wrong.
And BTW, even if every boast and story you've posted is the absolute truth, it doesn't change the manner in which you've chosen to conduct yourself on boards.
If you could be so successful while being demeaning to people, you'd be amazed at how successful you could be and how much more fun life would be if you actually liked people.
And how do you feel you have conducted yourself on the boards lately with your demeaning posts to me. They have all been posts done in a manner you are proud of?

I am very proud and find myself to be quite well mannered and insightful. I'm sorry that you find my opinions to be demeaning. I like to think of them more as "teaching moments".
I'll gladly admit that I've probably posted some things that I would not say that I'm proud of. I don't pretend to be perfect. It does seem like a few people have been able to get under my skin lately and I've responded to some posts that I when I thought about it later, I probably just should have ignored it.
I do apologize. It was never my intent to demean you or anyone. I was really trying to let you know that the constant bragging does get really old...just as it has on every other board. No one cares about how much or how little you make. Add to the bragging all of the things that you say makes you more of a "professional" gets people more irritated. Then you add all that up with a profile that doesn't show who you really are, and it all seems unbelievable.
As I mentioned, I think you could be a good contributor on this board. But I would not expect this board or other boards to change any time soon. If you continue down the same path, you'll end up at the same place as other boards. I do hope you consider that and maybe look at what you could do differently.
I will gladly do the same.

They are good make you feel good statements but they don't have any beef in them, i like examples and stories to be in a response if your going to feed me those type of posts.
Now if i can only get you to go back and tell me that you would of asked a fellow member of the board if their children were step children or if you would of posted my address on a chat board without asking me if it was o kay or if you would of posted a picture of my place or if you would of created a you tube making fun of me.

Another thing Scott as i extend my hand out in friendship to you....Try to remember if i say it on this Board it is true so if you find it unbelievable rather then make fun of my post just remember there are many DJs doing much better then me that just don't share their stories.

I too like examples...but the bragging, not so much. I thought I did include stories when relevant, but will certainly try to add more.
I will also add that there are sometimes that I don't have a strong opinion either way because I understand that we are all different, and what pertains to me and my business might not make sense for someone else's.
I am sure there are many many successful DJs out there. Many more successful than you and I. I do wonder how many of them are anonymous on chat boards while boasting about it. Does that make sense why it seems so unbelievable?
However, unbelievable or not, I do agree that me making fun of the post doesn't add a whole lot. I probably could be better at relaying that opinion.
It would depend on how I was approached. For the most part I would have handed the guy the stand and told him pay it forward some day to another DJ in distress. If for some reason I didn't like the guy I would take his cash without guilt.
I played a small Birthday party Friday night with a small system. When I got home I loaded up some extra gear for a big venue Saturday night and with being tired I simply forgot to load the extra speaker stands. It was closer to go to the rental shop than home so I picked up a couple of stands. I told the guy that works there the story and we had a good laugh at my expense. When I went to pay he told me to just bring them back Monday and we are even. Now mind you this is the same place I do all my rentals when I need them and I buy 99% of my gear there so it's not like I'm a stranger but just in that I think I owe a pay it forward moment

I like that Jeff, My friend used to be the pro audio manager at our local GC. I had spend so much money there I had ordered and extra Bose speaker. The speaker had not shown up on time for when I needed it. They loaned me the floor model to do my event I returned it on Monday and my speaker came in a couple days later. It was an expensive loan but appreciated. I also would have loaned the gentleman the stand if it was easy for me to do.
I spend alot of money there and they treat me A-1. If I plan to buy something I go in and see them and they let me take it on approval for a test run. At one point last year I had a dual L1-B1 out and a pair of NX55 and NX200 sub. I wasn't sure what way I was going to go so they gave me all of it and told me to bring it back when I decided which I liked better. I brought my Revo in for repair there a couple of weeks ago and before I left they had another one for a loaner waiting for me

At first, I was agreeing with Steve. The deal struck me as chintzy, no offense Cesar. But after giving it some thought, yes, I can see dinging the guy, especially if it was someone I didn't know already. He should have been prepared and if you just bail him out he's going to forget about it and do the same thing next week. It does beg the question however, why not use a lav mic? I can't think of any ceremony where I've used a hand-held (wired or wireless) for the minister. I wouldn't want to put an ugly stand in their pics.
