Hello all,
I try to freshen up my light show every so often, but now I am stumped as to what to get.

I have:
8 intels Chauvet and other
8 Chauvet colorrails
16 asst led pars
4 Kinta FX
2 Laserworld CS-1000 with pangolin software
4 Chauvet Derby X
2 Chauvet Mushroom
2 Antari Hazers ( can't remember their models)

All controlled via iPad with Luminair 3 app.

I want to add something, but everything I look at seems to be more of the same that I already have. I would like to spend under $2k on a couple fixtures if anyone has any suggestions.

Do you have any photos or videos of your show? Sometimes the answer is fewer fixtures used more effectively, not necessarily more stuff. But it would help us to see what you're currently doing.

Honestly once the show starts I am usually too busy to think about photos and stuff. Not saying the lights show isn’t good. My lighting engineer does a great job for me. I think he has a couple hundred scenes programmed in. He usually spends about an hour before each show tweaking things. Just like to add new stuff every so often and really not seeeing anything jumping out at me. Lighting guy always grumbles at me when I do because he has to integrate the new stuff. Also grumbles about the iPad control a good bit too

What kind of gigs are you working?

EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!

LOL. We do high school events (large and small), weddings, sweet 16's, live production, etc. etc. etc.

Just whatever comes down the road to be honest.

I think the high school shows are what I am mainly wanting to freshen up. We just got done with Homecoming season and got re-booked for next year on all of them. The customers all love the sound and light show, but I like new toys every once in a while. LOL

Perhaps the lights aren’t what u need... but maybe more effects like co2 cannons and guns?

I had some streamer launchers, but a few of the schools complained about them. I made them an add on option after that and nobody has requested them for a long while.

A couple co2 cannons might be pretty wicked. Something new and noticeable by everyone.

I was tossing around getting some geysers for the live production end of the deal don’t think they would be to wise for the teen events though.

Here's a look at what a dual cannon and single gun combined looks like:

Here's a more recent video from the same event. It has around 600 kids each year. Effects like co2 and confetti go a long way. Back in the day we also used to do black light segments. I just use 6 heads and uplights for lighting.

I like that effect. How long does the co2 last?
If you're referring to the tank. A typical 20lb tank gets around 30 seconds worth of effect. I have an individual tank for each cannon and gun. Getting around six 5-second blasts throughout the night. The tanks are around 150 each, the guns are around 200 each, cannons are around $400 each from china or $700 from the us. CHina ones need hose modifications that cost around another $50 per line since they use different fittings there than here.

That’s not too bad. I was looking at the Chauvet and ADJ geysers, but 2 to 4 of them might put a little more strain on my power distro than I would like and present even more problems at smaller venues. Co2 doesn’t present those problems

Co2 cannons uses minimal power, guns use NO power. They shoot out 40 degree smoke which is nice and cool, and also disappear instantly when you are done shooting them so they don't linger. Geysers are heat based which draws lots of power, and also present the same problems as smoke machines and potentially smoke detectors. Also co2 shoots MUCH higher... about 20-30ft depending on the environment.

Just don’t drop a tank. Lol. One of my dive tanks got dropped once when I was in the military. Things got real interesting real fast.
