It wold be cool to see (via video) everyone's setup/gear/equipment from a recent gig. We can all learn from each other, get new ideas, and get a feel of what it is like before the madness begins at a gig.

In the video below, the 2nd speaker (far side) is getting the signal from a wireless receiver (Shure QLX) mounted in a case on top of the B1s (as you can see). The transmitter is connected to the Aux output of the T1 and I have full control over just that zone, including the full DSP within the T1.

I also provided 20 Freedom Par Up-Lights

This is a huge space, and the Bose does pretty well. Could use a tad more low end, but the mids/highs throw so nicely when no one is obstructing the array. Next wedding there, I will add two more wireless L1 Compact speakers in the rear. Would definitely help at the peak of the night.

I will go first. Sorry, a tad long.

I guess no one had DJd since my posting.

Quick walk-around at Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo, CA.

I will go again-- I gotta say, I absolutely love using my wireless speaker setup on rooms like this. I am finding myself doing this every other gig. Very clean look, and it gives me the ability to place the speakers in the best spot.

$495, but will often do it for $395. It's pretty much out on every gig.

Thanks for sharing.
What are you using to mount the lights on top of he L1's?

Nice Ross! What is behind the compact base? Would love to see your table setup.

Not a great view of it, but that's where I was positioned. Normally I'd place myself to the back and further out of the way, but the venue had this table set up for me already at the ceremony site so I used it.

I've got 3 powerpacks working (overkill, but I'm paranoid). So, behind each Bose is a battery to operate it, and the third one is under my table to power the source equipment.

Mp3 player and Mics > Yamaha Mixer > TRS Cable send the signal to the first Bose on the right.

I've got a Shure BLX beltpack taking the signal out from the first Bose, and a receiver on the second one.

That way, I don't have any cables moving through a foot traffic area. The Bose on the left is totally independent, just the BLX receiver, and speaker itself plugged into the powerpack.

I'll try to take a photo of what it looks like next time I run this style set up if people are still curious about it.

Ross, by "power pack" I assume you mean you're self-powering your gear. Do you mind sharing what you're using for this? I have a marine battery/inverter setup that I use but that battery is very heavy and I'm wondering if it's not gross overkill for ceremony power needs.

I'm using the equivalent of this: Amazon.com: Duracell Powerpack Pro 1300: Automotive

One of them is that exact unit, the other two area previous model.

Based on the data I got from Bose, at "room filling sound" that battery should run for 6 hours. At clipping levels, it should run for 3. I handicap those numbers by about 50% for battery health and conditions, and assume that I have no issue getting a quick sound check. 30-40 minute prelude, and 30 minute ceremony from them.

If you don't mind me asking more questions, how long have you been using these? Have you tried running a system to see what the actual lifespan of a charge is? I can't tell whether these are deep-cell batteries or not. I've heard that non deep-cell batteries tend to degrade quickly when used for anything where the unit gets discharged heavily. One thing, that 23 pounds is a lot lighter than then 60lbs my marine battery weighs.

I've been using them for years. On my older units, I replaced the core battery in it about 18 months ago which was much cheaper than buying new ones, and was a user serviceable part. I think they are deep cell, and I was told the important thing is to keep them charged, and top them off occasionally even when you haven't used them.

I have meant to run a system for as long as it will go to see what the actual life is, but I've never actually done it. I only use these for a few ceremonies a year, but the batteries generally still read out 60-70% of battery life left at the end of the ceremony.

I ordered one of these (and 2 extra batteries) ... PowerPlant: Electricity-on-demand, wherever you go

At the time it was $99 + $40/battery .. Won't be here until the fall, but it looks promising. We shall see .. since the max draw is about an amp at 120v.
