Finally decided to look and found the authors website. It was available for download there. FYI it is standalone and doesn't care what version of the software you are running.

I should have done this before posting here. I figured I'd get messages about upgrading. I didn't think comments would be negative like some were. Isn't this a support forum?

Mapping Rockit to a particular controller, is sort of left up to the customer -- otherwise I would have to buy them all, test them, etc. That can get quite expensive. So, if you create a mapper for a particular controller, send me a copy, and I will put it on the website for others to use.

VDJ does it basically the same way -- most of their controller mappers, keyboard mappers and skins are built by the users, then they distribute them to others. You don't think Stephan actually does that himself -- do you...?

Same with RockIt -- I just build the platform. You can do tons of stuff with it, but it's sort of up to you to do that. Open up an existing mapper with a text editor like NotePad, you'll see how they work, same with skins. If you have specific questions, just ask me.

Not true.
You also have to buy a subscription to access the tool through the VDJ site - which is a rather ungrateful way to host user developed apps that promote VDJ.

The user and the license holder are not always the same person. That leaves an employed DJ using the house system SOL on accessing free tools developed by other DJs unless they can find the links outside VDJ support.

No I'm not scared. I appreciate what Rick has to say and it's right. I am working on my solution and will post it when done. I am a license holder of Rockit. I like the software. I only started to use VDJ LE because it was included with my new mixer/controller. I had to keep things working. Sorry but other than mapping for my mixer it does nothing more for me and I still like Rockit.

I already explained why I made the choices I made. I don't regret them. I'm happy. I'll learn more about Rockit as I get the software and hardware working together.

Once again thanks Rock for explaining things and for such a good product.

My original question had been answered that's why I never posted more here.
