Upgrading my photobooth setup

That's weird Mine is an iphone 6 and won't do it. I had to download a QR reader app. What about you other iphone users? Does your work?
I have a 6 as well. The camera app worked as it was.

But the 400+ parents who will be there for the senior walk-out are............

So then buy a Facebook ad to advertise your Photobooth for grad parties, or whatever occasion you think those parents will need you for. Do you have any idea how much kids are anti-Facebook? You might as well try to get them to read an AARP magazine while you're at it.

So what platform? On the photobooth software, I believe it will auto-post to facebook and has options for them to post to their twitter or their own facebook. I didn't see any others. I do have the texting option enabled (required buying some bandwidth from a service provider).

He’s right... kids don’t have facebooks. They’re all over Instagram. What I’ve been successful with is sharing my albums to my Facebook page and the kids go and download the pics from there (no account is needed to view a business page) and then they post em on instagram (but with my watermark).

From a photobooth perspective I utilize the texting feature.

I still have a ways to go but think this is a good upgrade over what I've been doing. Signage sucked and I need to re-route some cables but overall, I'm pleased. Am using a white stretch scrim with UV LED uplight underneath. The ring light is an 18" with amber diffuser installed. Am please with how the photos are turning out.

1) raise the monitor so the subjects are looking in the direction of the camera, it's impossible to get them to look at the camera - the monitor being closer, helps....lower the camera a tad so there's not so much head room in every photo...and center it on the backdrop.....
2) The photos are OK - It may be my old eyes... they look a bit blurry
2) You pride yourself so much on your sound/lighting set up - this set up screams "photographer adding a free photo station", with the plainest of plain templates..... The booth wasn't free; the client deserves a branded template for their event, not an advertisement for your business. You don't have a banner on your table......there's nothing wrong with putting your name on the template... just be a bit more discrete. ....Invest in a proper shell that represents your brand.....

Point #1 I'll agree with. Am using this again next weekend so that's on my list of fixes to do. The last one, in this particular case, they have a set of frames for the kids. Putting additional graphics would be pointless. This next weekend, however, it's just the prints so will do this coming weekend.

Not gonna lie - this whole setup just looks hokey. Forget the wow factor... there's not even a fun factor. It's literally a webcam, and a tablet, and a cheap camera tripod, and a printer. Anyone spending good money to have you bring this setup to their event is likely going to have buyers' remorse. It's also sort of redundant - doesn't the tablet have an HD-quality camera built-in?

I know that you like building your own systems, but this setup is too frugal for its own good. I'm in no way trying to be intentionally cruel - just stating facts. You're going to lose more in potential bookings from one event with this than you would have spent on a nicer looking, professionally-built kiosk.

Well thanks for your brutal honesty. No, the built-in camera is 2mp this one is 15mp. I'm pleased with the quality. As for the look, sure, it doesn't look like a $6k kiosk. Doesn't really matter to me. PB is an add-on and I've gotten very few complaints in the past. To each his own.

The PB is only an add-on if you let it be that. If somebody called you today and said they already had a DJ but just wanted a Photobooth, you wouldn't give them a quote?

Very few complaints = at least two too many. If it doesn't matter to you, that's cool... but you can't have that attitude and expect your business to grow.
BTW - the kiosk I mentioned in my last post is $2200, not $6k.

Somebody is a bit uppity today.

I thank I'm going to buy some Pyle Pros and market dj service as an add on --- run a playlist - At $250.00 - the client isn't going to care.....- $1500 will land you a decent shell....

Go for it. I thought your solution looked pretty shitty, to be honest.

I agree on getting a box or building one. I think in the long run, it will be easier to add on.
