Just a new thread on how these 2 compare to each other. I am planning to get into moving heads this year and would like some input. Maybe Ben can give us some insight. My first question, is the Torrent really made in the USA?

I don't believe the Torrent is made in the USA, but I will definitely get verification either way.

Nonetheless, the Torrent is definitely brighter, although I think the Q-Spot 260 is plenty bright for most DJ applications.

Both offer slot-lock gobos (probably my favorite feature), and for an inexpensive fixture like it to have DMXable focus is nice. All in all, the Torrent is just a bigger, better, more featured fixture.

Ben, will you give us YOUR take on the comparison between these units?

Rick -

I believe I did above. Was there something specific you wanted me to address?

I think it really comes down to the application. If you need something as bright as the Torrent, then that's the way to go. If not, the Q-Spot 260 is a great fixture that's smaller and less expensive. It's more comparable to the output of a HSD250 lamp though, so it's really like comparing a HSD250 to a MSD575... it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison.

Sorry Ben, I blew right past it. Thanks for the info.
