Also keep in mind that, like a powerpoint, the purpose of this flyer is to get the point across in bold points that will attract a call and then a booking. They aren't supposed to be full sentences but yes should be grammatically correct.

Good points, Adam. A little rephrasing would help it not sound so typical.

Always ask yourself "what does the client expect from a dj" and soft sell these items.
Ask yourself "what does the client WANT from a dj" and harder sell these items.

In other words, you might as well be a yellow page line listing if all you sell is what they use to define a dj (in their perception you are no different than all the other djs). You need to find the items that make them want to change providers...what are they not currently happy with. Ask real customers, not other djs. Other djs will give you the answers to their own fliers. Customers will tell you what you really need to know. Ask "why did you choose us?" If they don't have a concrete reason, you didn't really sell them on you; you were just convenient. Sometimes it's a harsh reality.

Overall though, it does catch my attention, just a little rephrasing in my opinion!

I mean you are the one trying to sell yourself, and honestly you will kinda know what works in your area. If it was my flyer i would change a few things...nothing real special!

Carolina,

I send out flyers to my area schools as well (tri folds) but I target them for all school dances, Home coming dances are generally fund raisers for the Prom! If you target the Home coming dance and it is a success then generally if you sell a package for both dances you will get them both.

So even though you are targeting the Proms you may want to do an early send next year for all the school dances in one flyer and then target the individual dances as well!

Well I've been trying to balance things here. Its hard for me to book high school dances since i'm in high school and the district policy around here is that if a HS has a dance, it either has to be during the school day or directly after unless its a homecoming or a prom, in which case they must be held off campus and since i'm in high school i can't get out but so much which is generally used up by my excuses for Academic Pep Rallies. Middle schools, however can have evening dances and therefore are a better target for me during the spring especially. Homecoming Dances around here....kind of don't happen and prom is the big money maker so I target that exclusively.

I would, however, like to begin working schools over for multiple bookings in the 2009-2010 school year. Offering incentives and packages such as "Homecoming Madness" where we'll perform a pep rally, a tailgate and the homecoming dance, all for 1 price.

Good Sugguestion Thunder, Thanks!
