I did Norah Jones this afternoon :)

Not literally of course, as I haven't met her yet -- give me time, and I'll probably corrupt her too... :D

It was very relaxing during the day -- she puts me to sleep after a nice dinner meal, but is just relaxing on a nice sunny day :)

Coming up for tonight is:

Sinatra At The Sands again (totally awesome, even moreso on MoFi vinyl)
Spyro Gyra - The Deep End
Grover Washington - Strawberry Moon

The smooth jazz stuff is sooo mellow, it just sorta puts you into a meditative state -- kinda like a good joint, but without the hassles... ;) :)

Say it aint so Rick. What? No rock n Roll New Years bash on the farm? I think you must be coming don with some melancholy. What gives?

I've gotten totally spoiled with this new system Jon...

When you can close your eyes, and hear Grover Washington and the boys jam, and the horns fill the room, and you can hear every cymbal tap along with the rhythm and bass, it sorta makes it hard to listen to other stuff...

Most of my old goto music, just doesn't cut it on this system. For example, Styx used to be one of my favs, but it doesn't sound all that good when you can hear everything :sqerr:

The old (and simple) stuff sounds the best. Bob Dylan is fantastic, like having him in the room with you. Robert Johnson, et. al.

The mega produced stuff, comes across just like that -- might just as well listen to AM radio, because you can hear the compression... :sqerr:

When you get over to the right coast, I'll let ya sit down and listen to Sinatra At The Sands -- you'll love hearing the natural voice and instruments... :)

Damn Kirb, yer all over the genre map tonight... yorofl:

We need to get you settled in to a groove, before ye explode...

Go put on Captain Fantastic - Elton (Yellow Brick Road will do, if you don't have the Cpt), and you'll be okey dokey in the morning... :)

Kirby must be my music brother. We are too much alike when listening to music.

Kirby, check out Joe Banamassa, Philip Sayce, Eric Gales, (Erics' Brother) Little Jimmy King, Gary Moore and Walter Trout. A few of my favorite guitar-oriented pickers.

Well, at least yer focusing on a certain genre tonight -- dead musicians... :sqerr:

I'll see if I can locate some "live" ones in my collection.... :triwink:

Did you drink that much last night, that you saw these folks...? :sqlaugh:

Yeah, 2 whole 16 oz. bottles of Pepsi and I was seeing Jimi Hendrix.. :D

That's yer problem dude, and probably the reason for the gastric distress...

You need to get on the Wolf Den Eggnog Distribution List (WDEDL). :)

Mind you, you have to reciprocate properly -- I use sugar as the bait myself, cause I know Shirl's weakness :D

Once you put a 1.75L of that behind you, your stomach will no longer have any distress, and you will read happily ever after on the throne of wisdom...
