I just do the 2 shows, one Sat night and one at noon Sundays. Anchorage is 120 miles each way so usually I am only in Anch every other Sunday. I don't get home from the other till around midnight, a 60 miles round trip.
Welcome!

Welcome aboard the crazy train ...Hello All. I think we can all agree that p00p00 is the snappiest stage name going right?
I'm here because whilst everyone's been getting poorly / commanded to stay at home etc., I've been doing a weekly show using a control surface i made - a free ios thing currently pointed mostly at traktor and i need some traktor users to kick the tires a bit and tell what's wrong with it, how to make it betterer, etc.
Can do that later though. In the meantime, hello DJs

With a name like p00p00 I think you'll fight right in. Welcome aboard!Welcome aboard the crazy train ...
Welcome aboard .. there are times when the other stuff takes over, so don't assume the passions need to stay hidden .. this is just a chat board ..I won't bore you with my other passions as these are not relevant here.
Hello everyone. my name is Rob, 42 years old, hailing from Holland and I've been DJing professionally for about 20 years, the last 10 of which full-time as a wedding DJ on the resort island of Bali. Entertaining people and giving them a night to remember is one of my biggest passions. I won't bore you with my other passions as these are not relevant here. I also like to help other aspiring wedding & event DJs improve their skills by sharing my knowledge and experience.
I started out with CDs but transitioned to digital DJing with a laptop and controller 7 years ago which made my career a lot easier, not to mention my back was a lot happier not having to carry around 40 kgs of gear and CDs with me to gigs.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic I've been out of work since March '20 and I'm keeping my fingers crosses that tourism will return someday. But it has allowed me to connect more with my fellow human beings in general and other mobile DJs in particular.
Welcome aboard Joe .. If you can make it through a Mix thread with your sanity intact, you're doing fine.Hello I'm Joe honestly I've been lurking this board for a while and figured I'd get involved. Been djing for 25 plus years from clubs back in the day to mostly weddings now. The weddings happened by accident I was just learning the wedding thing for a big company about 1995 and I had to setup the equipment for the DJ who was supposed to show up and Emcee it well he didn't so I had no choice and nailed it (I think). I was so nervous I didn't remember doing the intros. My preferred style is to let the music do the work. Anyway great to finally get involved.
PS - All the threads that Mix starts really are entertaining.
I like this guy already! Welcome aboard Joe! I agree with you. I speak no more than necessary and let the music do the work!PS - All the threads that Mix starts really are entertaining.
Welcome aboard. We're not location based, but definitely mobile DJ heavy (though we have some club folks as well). No one I'm aware from Greece, but we have folks from the UK, France, Australia and New Zealand dropping by.Greetings to the gang! I will not start by saying that I've been a long time reader of this forums, unless the past couple of hours count as a long read. Searching for some subwoofer reviews brought me here, one thread led to another, and the register button came naturally.
I am a 40yo DJ based in Greece and Cyprus but I don't know if this forum is location based or International, couldn't find an About page. In the few threads I read I noticed people mentioning US territories only, so bear with me if I am out of my place. I know some forums are very strict with these kind of things but I believe music is international. Where are most members here from really?
I've been working as a club DJ since my youth days back in 2002 and never actually stopped DJing. I don't think that residencies or guest appearances matter here, so I won't bore you with club names that you've never heard of, being from another part of the globe. Anyway, the club scene glory days here are long gone, no more 7/365 partying till 7am, so this club DJ started working in bars, beach-bars, pubs and any other venue that needed music. I expanded my library to pretty much any type of music the venue wanted and this eventually landed me some wedding and private party invitations.
I've done several events in the past 3-4 years but always with rented A/V hardware. I was used to show up with my cd crate (now a midi console) plug headphones in and perform. I never had to worry about crossovers or DMX but I am learning something new everyday. Growing older, bills have to be paid, so I am taking this event/wedding service of mine to a more serious level, by getting my own pro gear and focusing on it even more. And that's how I found this lovely forum and I hope I can steal some knowledge and maybe even share some back. Cheers ODJT!
but definitely mobile DJ heavy
