Not sure of where you're getting songs from .. please be aware most of us are pretty much against getting music that wasn't gotten from a pool or paid service or ripped from a CD you own.

In general, you put music on a local hard drive .. then import that music into the application (Serato or otherwise). The application builds it's own library index from that. There are also ways to load the music into a middleman like iTunes, from which most DJ apps can also read.

Hello all! I'm an old school Computer Scientist that's attempting to enter the world of online video edutainment in a big way. I'm on this forum to find someone skilled with a music synthesizer and offer them a sort of partnership. I've been informed that music synthesis is a significant part of the DJ biz and that this is the crowd I should be addressing.

While neither Computer Science nor Mathematics might be your thing, you can at least appreciate the quality of the work I do by skimming my Illustrated Guide of the Number Theoretic Transform:

We've got lots of computer guys here (I'm a Computer Engineer and have been in IT 38 years). Not sure we have many or any synth guys, though it's possible .. no one has talked about it. It's definitely not needed for a mobile DJ .. more of a thing for music creation or some club work .. same with drums and the like.

I just do the 2 shows, one Sat night and one at noon Sundays. Anchorage is 120 miles each way so usually I am only in Anch every other Sunday. I don't get home from the other till around midnight, a 60 miles round trip.
