I just booked another one today... #58 for the year, and it will probably be the last one. I only will schedule them until mid October due to the chance of bad weather. This one is October 3rd. I wouldn't mind getting 2 more, though.

What date do you guys stop doing them?

BTW, this one is gonna be FUN! It is a combination BP and a soldier coming home from Iraq party. I didn't tell the client, but I gave them a pretty nice discount..... $395 for a 4 hour event.

The guy will be coming back from his 2nd tour.

I have done 0, yea zero, Bubble Parties this year. Had to put just the bubble stuff on hold this summer for a variety of reasons (mostly personal).

Just a reminder to get your stuff for 2010 ready NOW.

Last year I sent all mine out in late January, and I was frequently being told that we missed the daycare center's budget deadlines.

I'll know in the next couple of weeks if I will be able to do any next year. I really missed doing them this year. Besides the easy money, I really really enjoy entertaining that age group (3-6).

Any of you ever do a night time bubble party?

I have a request for that this coming June. It is a repeat customer who wants me to try it under the moonlight before a sleepover for about 15 girls.

Sound like fun, but I wonder how great the bubbles will be....

I think I still have 2 cases of UV reactive bubble fluid if someone wants to take it off my hands.

Personally, I found it rather "shocking" to use.

The bubbles were "okay" - they "glow" around te edges (becasue of course the bubble itself is transparent!)

But, what really freaks you out is what appears on the ground and everything else after they land.

Before long, the "splatter" revealed by the blacklight looks like a bloody crime scene straight out of CSI.

A really bad break today... I got a call from a day care I did last year. It is part of a chain. They wanted me to do a BP in 5 centers in 5 days.... I was all excited until they told me the dates.... I'll be in Mexico that week. :sqfrown:

And they only wanted that specific week.

Wow, this has not been a good year, unlike the last 3. I "may" have found a reason why, but I could be 100% wrong, though.

Today I was driving in an area that I would call the fringe area of how far I will travel for a standard bubble party. I saw this car headed towards me and it was painted to look like bubbles all over the car, and I saw the word bubbles on the car. Then attached to the roof was what looked like a giant bubble wand.

Thing is, I didn't see a company name on the car.

I wonder if I now have competition that I did not have.

My bet is that the guy uses pirated bubbles, offers his parties for free Kool Aid and PBJ sandwiches and cant afford a logo.

So, I just got off the phone with a person looking to book a bubble party. I was referred by a moonbounce company that wants to work with me... Turns out the guy is a grade school principal. He wants to book me for a private party, but what he said was that if he likes what I do, he has 10 daycare centers that he works with, and he would try to get me to do parties at all 10 centers.

But more importantly, maybe, is that he said if he like what I do, he could get me all the elementary schools in his school district.

That would be very nice because it would be in a close area that I have not yet done events in.

Why not use rubber snakes? Are the kids scared of them?

Price... I can make 3 snakes for $1. Plus they are happy colors...

I found on Rhode Island Novelty you cant get rubber snakes for about $2. a dozen and was thinking about getting them.

I was worried kids may be scared of them.

How many snakes do you use in the game? I was thinking about 50.

Probably about 50... I have a whole trash can full of them... never actually counted them.

Thing about rubber ones though is that a child could accidentally throw one and hit someone and have them cry. You don't want that.

So, has everybody else stopped doing these? If you still do them, I would like to know who you are.

I am sincerely hoping to return to the bubble business next summer. I truly miss doing them. I only do the 3-6 year old set and they are a blast!
