Papa, so you want this thread as a sticky or let it go off into the sunset?

I don't think it will fade away. Bu if ya want to sticky it, that is fine as well.

I may have hit the ABSOLUTE MOTHER LODE today!

I was taking my daughters to the YMCA for swimming lessons today. I belong to 3 branches as a result of paying for the most expensive one.

Anyway, I was going to volunteer an adult party for this particular branch. I pulled out my business card, and my Bubble Boogie Card was stuck to my main card. I figured, what they heck, I'll give this lady one of those too.

She absolutely seemed disinterested in my adult party offer, but when she saw my Bubble Party card, her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree! It seems that she has a business of her own...... coordinating kids birthday parties! She was so excited, that while I was in the pool area watching my kids take lessons, that she came up to me and told me she had already visited my website, and LOVED the idea!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what she might be able to do with / for me. She told me that she coordinates about 35 - 50 parties in an average year....

.

I plan on doing these as well. One of the ideas I had for pictures was the child inside of a bubble. I did some research and foun recipes for special bubble mix for these giant bubbles. I also found all kinds of ideas just searching the internet.

Here is a picture I found on the internet. I plan on doing something similiar, but I plan on making it look better somehow.I plan on bringing a printer and frames to each event and also cd's to burn and sell. Emails are also available

Care to share the link to the recipes?

Yeah I was thinking some kind of shower curtain with a cool kids design or some kind of cool backdrop. And the picture would have to be a little closer up of the child.I have discussed this with a day care owner and they absolutely loved it.

This screams SPONGEBOB to me....

My good friend Rob Peters does very well with Bubble Parties...
In fact, he has mentioned it and John several times on the podcast recently.

I sent out "about" 12 promotional packages - Flyers... :sqwink: - on Saturday. MY phone actually rang at 9:05 AM this morning. I booked it within 5 minutes. There was really NO SELLING at all on my part.

20 minutes after that I had another call from those flyers. I didn't book it, but I think I will. The manager of the daycare had to check with the owner first, and she wanted to have all the answers before talking to the owner.

And, I will say it again - John is NOT kidding when he says that these daycare places talk to each other. The lady who booked earlier today had heard of me last week from my kid's daycare manager, and they are not even part of the same company.

I'm not really busting my hump to book these parties at all. And, so far, ZERO objections to my $195 price. That is a price I feel real comforatble with as far as being fair to me and providing good value to the daycare owners / ops.

I hope you guys are doing well with them.

Rick, I created a 2 page flyer and added 2 business cards. I sent them by mail on Saturday.

I was thinking about dropping off the ones closer to home.... not sure if that is a good idea or not.

So far I've tried two personal contacts and then e-mail, resulting 2 bookings. I e-mailed about 8-10 centers on Friday and haven't heard anything yet.

My e-mail was sent with the subject line "New Concept In Children's Entertainment: Bubble Parties".

I've heard nothing yet, but I did this totally blind, just to see what happens. For all I know, most of the e-mails just got filtered out.:sqeek:

The flyers and cards sound like a good quick idea, though. BTW, I based my price on the area I'm in.

I'm not sure about dropping off either. Maybe after a phone call to the head person?:sqconfused:

So I decided to go with a 4x6 postcard for my mailer. I designed two, I could use some feedback on which to go with. My wife likes the one with the girl because she thinks the other one has too much text. My concern with the girl card is that she is a bit older then the typical bubble party attendee, but I don't really think that anybody will notice. And before anybody qoutes my own advice given in a thread about business cards, I am also getting feedback from some teachers. I just wanted to bounce these off you guys and get your thoughts. Thanks.

And, yes, I know that my website lists a lower price. I am more than likely going to raise my price based on Papa's comments.

Wayde I love the background pic but you need to seperate your text grid as it seems to mold too much into the background making it difficult to read perhaps a bolder white font would work or a white background with the black text.

Thanks, but which pic do you love?

I understand what you are saying and it is a concern, however keep in mind these are slightly smaller than life size thumbs and they are 72dpi whereas the originals are 300dpi.
