(I am not looking to pi$$ off anyone who is doing this and didn't buy the plan, just being fair to those who did invest in it.)

For the most part, everyone here has also invested in becoming a dj. And, most here are wanting to make the best of that investment by making themselves better by sharing and networking about things we each do. What makes this program so special, that we can't discuss it here? (Understanding the reason we didn't before.)

Just curious?

Staff: Will I be moderated if I choose to start threads and discussions on Bubble Parties?

Not staff, but I am sure not.

Randy...

A great question...

Among the information in the plan, you will find:
* Information on how to get started
* a state by state listing of where to locate (which department of your state's government) lists of day care providers
* information on music and formatting,
* information about the equipment you need where to purchase it
* Marketing ideas and an in depth plan, based on John's (and my) experience working with day cares

I hope that gives you a little idea. Plus by purchasing the plan, you also will have access to a forum of our members so you can learn and share ideas, conference calls, and the national directory (Again, see my earlier post!)

Whether you choose to purchase it or decide not to, I appreciate the opportunity to be included in your discussion, as well as here at ODJT!

Rob,

John had a great business idea and it's nice to see you take it to the next step. Entertaining in these areas are very tricky for some but with guidance and a solid plan most will be able to do it well. I wish you good luck.

Randy,

What you are doing as with most of us are providing outdoor parties for kids. Nothing new, you're just putting a theme to it. I've created all kinds of programs as a firefighter to both entertain and educate this age group. I've spent many years attending educational seminars, fire safety conferences, and worked closely with school staff. If I can lend any tips or pointers please ask, I'm happy to share.

Out of respect for John and with Rob now taking over I will not call my event Bubble Parties or even call myself the Bubble Man. Until those names become trademarked I would assume there free to use but I'm sure Rob will deal with that in his new plan.

My advertisement that just went out is this:
Ron Auger Productions Presents
The Big Bubble Dance Jam

I ran that by one local pre-school and they like it. Feel free to use it or any variation there of. You just can't use WED, however BED is acceptable.

More ideas to follow..........:sqcool:

As I've posted before, my interest in not sharing certain items regarding the business plan was not necessarily out of respect for John, but more out of respect for my investment.

Here is my post from a different thread...
"No offense...while I'm certainly willing to share to a degree, there are certain aspects of the plan that I (and I'm sure others who have purchased the plan) will not discuss, simply because we paid for it so why now give it away. Think of it this way, if you purchased The 1% Solution DVD, would you then post all the good stuff here for whomever asked.

For instance...the plan includes a detailed script for how to execute a bubble party start to finish. I found this very valuable because all the kinks had been worked out as John had already done dozens of these. I didn't have to worry about planning the performance, just doing it. It also includes at least one very important bit of marketing information that was key to getting started, also very valuable to me.
"

I see nobody offering up or discussing openly the core elements of Peter's book or DVD, Randy's DVDs, Todd's DVDs, Mark's workshops, Larry's book or any of the "pay to learn" media that is out there. I've seen opinions, reviews and some general discussions about these topics, but it's not like anybody has said "hey, I'll save ya the $200...here are Peter Merry's 6 Pillars of Wedding Marketing."

And you know what...I've just rethought my opening statement, I do also respect, as a fellow businessman, that these guys are trying to make a buck so why undercut them and give it all away.

Yes...anybody can do a bubble party, I'm not freaking out like those Love Story zealots, and I will discuss general bubble party stuff. I just feel that there are certain elements that are proprietary to the program and I'm respecting the owner of that information's right to earn some coin for it.

Understandable.

However, I do not nor have ever owned the program. Any information I offer is of my own experience in entertaining this age group. If anyone chooses to use it or adapt it please feel free.

Next idea. I just picked up some light up instruments and maracas. Kids love being in a parade. So if you have enough stuff, let them have one. You can play the Mickey Mouse Club March and mix it with something similar as they march around the play yard. In Vegas I spoke with a rep from Windy City Novelties. Their prices seems very comparable if not cheaper than others. They also had a much different selection. I bought some light up tambourines for under $3 each. Their colorful so you don't even need the lights during the day.

A friend of mine does exercise programs with this age group. I'll be working with him in a few weeks. I'll have even more ideas coming.

Has anybody seen this or even heard of this...

http://www.gazillionbubbleshow.com/

Might have been a fun side trip after the Bubble Breakfast in Vegas. I may try and take my son to the NY show.

I saw the rolling billboard driving up and down the strip. At first I thought it was one of those adds for the ladies who need a date or something like that. It would have been interesting to see. Next year.

I remember you pointing that sign out, Ron!
I remember pointing out the waitress with no underwear on also, but you remember the bubbles?:sptongue: It's all good!

I'm glad this thread came up again so I didn't have to search for it. I'd like to get an idea how much it would cost equipment wise to get set up, assuming from scratch. I talked to my sis in law about running the parties and she may be interested, but I want to research all I can right now.

From scratch...no less than $1000 for equipment alone.

You think? Let's see:

Bubble Machines... $330
Hula Hoops... I spent $80
Misc props... $150

Now when you say from scratch, what does that mean?

I use a powered speaker.. $215
Table for said speaker was $80

I use an OLD iPod.... so "I" call that free.... but you could use a 5 year old computer or even a $20 CD player.

Cables and cords... $100 max.

Headset wireless microphone... $150

Misc... $200

So, yeah, I guess about $1000.

Now, I guess "I" have closer to $1500 wrapped up in it.

I said "no less than $1000"...and I said "equipment alone" (hoops I count as props, oh and I got mine for $25...end of summer sale). I figured it this way...
(rough estimates)
2 Bubble Kings $300
1 Powered Speaker $250
1 Numark CDMix1 $200
1 Wireless Headset $150
Table & cables makes up the remaining C-note.

Then there is music, props and supplies (bubble juice). Oh, and of course marketing and insurance. Some may like to roll the dice with no insurance for receptions and such, however if you are going to entertain very young children with two gallons of dish soap, you better damn well be carrying some decent liability.

Out of what I normally carry the only thing I had to buy extra was a bubble machine. I'll be buying a second one as soon as the first job comes in. So, I can only offer those few items I've purchased recently. Add up what everyone else offers and you should find what you need.

You can get Hula Hoops from Rhode Island Novelty. 12 for $21.00

I was able to buy some at Walmart for $1.99 but mine haven't been carrying those anymore. Just the $3.99 ones.

Not a fan of the really cheap ones. In fact, I bought "deluxe" Hula Hoops as I just think they add to the look of the show... I think I paid anywhere from $5 - $8 per hoop.

Hey Wayde, I was agreeing with you. It surprised me to actually add it all up and see that it was so expensive to "start from scratch". But really, most of us are using at least some of our normal DJ stuff, I bet.

I know that I was, until I decided that I didn't want my "good" stuff near the little ones with bubbles.

Thanks guys. I figure I already have some of the stuff I need. Other than the bubble machines, not really sure what else I may need. If I hire someone to do this for me, will my regular DJ insurance cover it? I realize I would have to add a system to it.
