If anyone is interested, here are some backgrounds I made to use with Freestyler. Depending on what setup I use, that's what background I use. The third one is one I found on the Freestyler forums. I just tweaked it to make the others.

And... if anyone is wondering, the background images are for your desktop and allows for you to know which fixtures you are actually programming. It's a convenience thing....and well worth it.....

Scottie, they are for the background in the program, then you can move the light icons to where they are in your setup.
yes... i meant it is a lighting desktop background so you can move and keep your fixtures organized. sry for any confusion. i'llpost a howto later as i am on the PS3 browser now.

I just looked up the bandwidth for the first month of "FreeStylerGuide.com"
It is about 3.4MB!!!
sure... that may not seem like a whole bunch to you, but it really is. The guide itself is just shy of 100KB. This means that there have been roughly 25-30 views of the guide after the subtracting the webpage views (3.4MB ~ 3400KB...3400KB/100KB = 34)
This doesn't count all who downloaded from here!!

I would love to have a USB>DMX interface. One of the vote options was "other" so i'm going to explain mine...
My DMX light controller has midi input on it. Each midi note is a "Scene", blah blah, i'm sure all the experts here know what I mean.
I use a guitar tuning VST plugin on a PC. It listens to my main music mix track, and tries to detect what note is playing. Once it detects a note, it sends it down the midi cable to the light controller.
It's entertaining, but i'd still rather have a dedicated PC with freestyler and a DMX dongle.

I've been a LJ user for a few years - I bought an old ISA card three years ago. I lug a full PC around to all my shows (I am more of a lighting provider than a DJ). I would like to say that freestyler has 70% of the features of martin's light jockey. There are a few things missing that would be nice (like preset palleting) but I found a way to get around that - I am not complaining, especially at this price point.
If I like this enough, I will probably purchase another dongle for my church for use in their children's auditorium to control some dimming and a hand full of moving lights.
For half the cost of an american DJ operator.
