Here are some of my notes from MBLV09/perfect host seminar.

Question every word you say.

For good examples listen to on air personalities. A great one is Greg Brown-WLS, Chicago.

1. Be brief

2. Know your audience - every one is different.

3. Does it pass the "Who Cares" test?

a. Is what you're saying - worth saying?

b. Does the audience care?

c. How many people will it affect?

A great example of "C" was whether to announce that someone had left their lights on. :sqlaugh:

4. Think in Headlines - pen it first = condencing

5. S-L-O-W-D-O-W-N

6. Get Low -When excited your voice tends to go higher - DON'T!

7. Don't SHOUT -Keep your voice low/soft

8. Talk TO, not AT your audience.

9. Ennunciate, but don't over do it. (Listen to 'Ebb Tide' by Frand Sinatra)

(I found an interesting video of this song put to a scence from Psycho)

YouTube - Frank Sinatra - Ebb Tide

10. Command Attention - ONCE!

11. Kill your routine and personalize EVERYTHING.

12. Embrace pauses - Create peaks and valleys

13. Words count - Choose wisely.
