The computer tower was bought from Micro Center over a year ago. It cost me $250 plus tax. I'm just looking at the cheapest option and that is either have my friend fix that tower or get another one. Micro Center wanted over $300 to fix it. So that didn't make sense.
 
Just remember the SBC water pump heist.

I know I'll regret asking this but what was wrong with it that it would cost more to repair than buy a new one?

I think it has to do with that new math .. pay $21,000 for a $15,000 car, pay $300 for a $100 repair, etc. Add on top of that - that he doesn't answer any of their questions but asks them alot.

They said the motherboard was bad. My friend can get a motherboard he said from Micro Center for less than $50 that will work. She just needs it for basic stuff. Mainly to get online so she can get on Facebook and loose her mind checking out which stupid post is up there.
 
I haven't seen lately any ads on Craigslist where someone is looking to book a DJ when I do go on their. I used to see ads where the bride was looking for a DJ to come do their wedding for say $250-300 and the DJ could be just starting out. That's just a nice way of saying we want a cheap DJ to do our wedding and we don't expect a seasoned professional to come and do our wedding for that low a price.

Mix if that's all they can afford then they are gonna get what they pay for.

Let's be honest, though. People in both forums get on him MUCH MORE than just a little.[emoji1] You could argue that he brings much of it on himself, but the piling on is a little excessive sometimes.[emoji4] He seems to be a real nice guy.[emoji4]

Sometimes it's best to just not say anything, and he hasn't learned that. He's just an open book. Sometimes it's best to keep some things/thoughts to ones self. I use to feel sorry when people would hammer him, however I think he might like the attention. Like a kid that wants attention, if they don't get it by acting good, then they act out and get the attention.

Mix I can replace a motherboard in an average machine in 30-45 minutes and I'm not the most dexterous person in the world. I used to do some work on the side for a computer outfit locally we used to bill it at 1Hr so let's say that's the correct time. If you can get a motherboard for $50 and they want $300 to fix it that means they charge in excess of $250 an hour for labour does that sound right? My concern is that there is more than what your friend thinks is wrong and you will be throwing money after money at it but either way if he isn't charging labour I guess my point is moot

He's likely a great guy and most of the frustration we suffer we bring on ourselves too

Can't argue with anything you say. These smart phones have auto-correct, but maybe what they need is auto-withhold.[emoji1] TMI is a problem I have sometimes myself. I belonged to another forum where it was common practice for the majority to attack someone who was different from the norm or had different opinions, so I'm maybe a little sensitive to how people are treated on these forums. After all, this IS a place where DJ's should feel free to share their thoughts with their fellow DJ's. If everyone jumps all over you just because your way of thinking is a little abnormal... well, I'd just hate to see that happen here. We have such a great community![emoji4]
