You don't think the lighting is bit overboard? the booth/speaker setup is nice, but that lighting corner looks way over kill and not very clean with the lights on the floor and that little T bar all cluttered. It looks like you just grabbed a bunch of random lights and threw then together. Are any of the the DMX lights programmed? Are they all just on at the same time?

Breakz your surely proving why folks should buy from you with that incredible bedside manner. Steve was breakz name signed on your final check? When the lights go out it really doesnt matter what they are hanging from or where they are placed if they light up the proper areas.

Well the Christmas tree ain't mine........Why is the lighting overboard? Honestly, for that party it was......I felt like hanging it all.....
The lights on the floor are Starballs...basically, they work better (for me) on the floor.....
Cluttered/random? You don't see the symetry? (all factors of 2) except for the Vue...
Actually is a very logical set-up. When the lights are down...noone notices the "clutter". Not one customer has ever complained and to me, that's what counts...
The Vue is on sound active...the starballs are not DMX....the rest of the lights are all programmed on a controller.....

So... I am not the only one using an Rane mp44s with Denon dnd9000s, and QSC powerlights! Cool.

You will see them in these pictures. For this setup they were placed to the side... The iMac is now being integrated into our main rig (as we speak) as an all CPS setup. I will post pics of that when it is done. The drum pad looking thing is a Trigger Finger Midi control device for Torq.

Thanks John... It is a fantastic fascade that can be made smaller or larger in so many different configurations. Unfortunately, it is unique because the gentleman who made them had health issues and had to stop making them... He was one of the DJ Idea Sharing sponsors at our earliest events. "ProWood Products"
If you look closely, Cap uses the same fascade, just set up differently.
I set it up different everywhere I go. Just wish I could get more of these.

Actaully, no he wasn't one of the first. Odyssey, Grundorf and others were doing them long before he came along.
... AND he actually didn't use wood! (although the name throws you off.) That's the beauty of these. They last forever if you take care of them (unlike wood.) They also don't weigh alot (unlike wood.) And They are thin (Thin wood fascades don't last very long.)
His fascades were very unique. I am not 100% sure of the material. It is some kind of corregated plastic, I think.
We have had that fascade now for about 7 years! And during busier months we do between 3 and 5 shows a weekend with it. It has stood the test of time. Best we ever got with a wood fascade was 2 years.

Steve I had the opps to see two of these units down the street at my local guitar/DJ store and they looked interesting but both units were being returned for problems. As far as I know it was the only two in stock. I will be going up to see the folks there in the next couple days and will ask the reason. Any issues to date or any you have heard of or was this a rare situation?

As with everything I see software based... Your mileage may vary.
I see posts in every computer related and user forum where some have flawless results and others have disasters... and everything in between. More often than not, it is user error, or the computer is not up to spec. With people using a properly spec'd out dedicated DJ Computer and not doing bonehead things, the track record is quite good. Especially on OSX. I think Vista has had a few issues (but I don't pay attention - I don't do windows.)
The one area they need to improve is their database. (Which I hear they will in 1.5.) However most Torq users use iTunes as their Torq Database, which integrates quite easily and many are very happy with it.
Personally, I have limited use on it during a live show. (The CPS rig was in hiatus for 9 months while I got things prepped for it.) It is going live permanently after the winter (putting the finishing touches on it now... Also a 1.5 update is scheduled sometime after the new year to address major improvements, known bug fixes, and many user requests (including some of mine.)
So far, it has worked incredibly... and is even nicer now that I run it with the Denon HC4500.
To let you know, for example, it is not yet authorized for OSX Leopard use, however, those using Leopard are having even better and more stable results than with Tiger (The previous OSX.) I am running Leopard and am very happy.

The X Session Pro - Dongle + Midi Control Mixer (bundled with Torq LE)
The Connectiv - Dongle + Sound Card (bundled with Torq or
Torq + Time Control CDs + Vinyl)
The Xponent - Dongle + Midi Control Surface + Sound Card (bundled with Torq)
Plus Torq will run on any soundcard, but you do need one of these devices to start the program as they act as the dongle as well.
I actually use Torq with the HC4500 and leave the Connectiv connected for reboots. I have Torq's 2 decks running through the HC4500 soundcards and run itunes through the connectiv as a 3rd output for cocktail/dinner folder programing and as a backup 3rd playback deck.
