Sync an iPod but NOT have music sync?

*Non Itouch user here*

From what I read, there is a "sync only checked items"(i.e. movies or apps) in manual mode that should accomplish what you want?

I don't understand the question.

How do you sync something, yet not sync something?

When you plug the Ipod in, it will pop up with your device. There are a bunch of little tabs running across the page on Itunes (music, photos, video, podcasts etc). Go into each time and assign weather you want to manually control that section or have it sync. If you choose to have that section be synced, then you can actually choose if you want all video to sync or just certain folders.
