I have a potential client that wants to have a Super 16 Black Light party. They also want uplighting around the room.

I'm thinking 10 Chauvet 18" fluorescent fixtures for the uplighting plus 2 for my facade which would be set near the dance area.

The venue is small so no formal dance floor....

What I'm wondering is if a pair of American DJ 400w UV canon's would be enough to cover the dancers?

The "canons" are more intense, but cover a smaller area.
The fluorescent bulbs cover more, but the coverage is much weaker.
I remember doing a HUGE blacklight party years ago.
We bought almost a dozen double-fluorescent fixtures, and it wasn't enough.

p.s.
If you're also doing uplighting, remember that ANY amount of light from a non-blacklight source
will undermine the effect.

If the blacklight party is in that room...
you will need to do something about those windows.

Or this one. Put one on each pole under the speaker. http://www.stagelightingstore.com/S...ign=products&gclid=CIGGpbn9hLcCFQFx4AodoTcAJQ

They have blackout curtain that can be closed but I would take it a step further with black plastic over the windows

I was looking at these too. I had color pallets and they through a good amount of wash. Don't know how these stomp are tho
I can check with one of my dealers for you tomorrow. I am sure he has them on display. If they are bright enough I will let you know.

You want the American DJ Eco UV bar plus - 4 of them will Blast a LARGE space with Blacklight. I use 8 of them to fill a gymnasium with blacklight. Also Ben can get you AMAZING pricing on them. You can most likely get 4 of them for under $600 - http://www.americandj.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ItemNumber=2094 . Also, if you have the budget in the future, pick up 2 of the UVLED16's that Steve posted above and a pair of those with 4 of the ECO UV bars will be an incredible blacklight setup

Unfortunately their budget doesn't seem to support even having a DJ, much less any black lights.
If you don't mind what were they looking to pay to have you be their DJ? I don't get why they won't go with your price since they used you before? For them to come back to you to do another event must mean they must like what you did for them before.
