yes we know mix, that's why I sent them back. says 2500 watts on box but there only 1250 watts a side. And the cabs were plastic. They sounded like a Friday, Monday speaker. you know in a hurry on Friday, and hungover Monday.

I've always had good luck with mine (Alto's) up until recently...I'm now having trouble with one after 15 years of pushing them to their limits!
They've always sounded bigger than they are...lots of bass...I just hope I can find someone to fix it.
Not a whole lot of audio repair people out here in the middle of the southwestern desert.

I agree. I started with Alto’s, when I first started DJ’ing. I listened to a lot of speakers in GC, and I liked the way they sounded. I knew nothing about speakers back then. I didn’t know a budget speaker, from an expensive one. I went strictly by how they sounded to me, and I kinda depended on the expertise of the GC salesman. After joining DJ forums like this one, I learned a lot. I learned not to push those speakers past their limits, and subsequently, I got several good years of service out of them, before ultimately selling them back to GC, when I bought my RCF’s.

I ran 10 over 15 Yamahas for a long time, its sounded incredible
DXR powered, I was all Peavey when I was passive SP2a’s over RBS1 double 15 subs triamped
Ironically, I bought a pair of Monster X6 speakers at Sam's Club a couple of years ago...
I suppose many here would look down on them as 'cheap' speakers...
But you know what?
They sound awesome...they look great...and didn't break the bank for me.
I'm looking to by a pair of the new version of them, the Z6 to replace my Alto's...which I'm have trouble with one of them and I'm not sure if I can find anyone locally to fix it.
I could spend more...but why?

Double capital "F"s followed by 6 or 7 lower case "t"s definitely sounds like a capacitor problem.
OK, let's try something more realistic. It could be RF noise on the BT input. Does this happen when the Bluetooth input volume is set to its minimum?
Late model Altos and Harbingers work just fine for the typical party or wedding. If you are worried about one somehow blowing or failing on you, that is why we carry a back up with us to every event.
I recently helped my sister out on a pool party event at a big condo building at beach. I was her transportation. When I arrived to help her tear down and pick her up, I could hear my Old Alto TS215 speakers I sold to her almost 10 years ago. They are all original, and still sound good! I could hear the music just fine on the other side of this big building.
The sound quality of these speakers today far beyond exceeds the average passive PA speaker from 1996, and those PA speakers got the job done back then. Comparing a Alto TS 415 to a Community CSX 15" or Peavey SA-300 Speaker, or Yamaha BR15, JBL MR passive from back in the day (Or even the original JBL EON powered speakers). All those speaker models were work horse speakers used by DJs for many years back then, and they were not expensive, very middle of the road or even considered "Low End" by many people back then. Yet thousands of DJs used them for years just fine and people danced and had a great time. Granted those work horses back then you can argue were better made, and many were made in the USA etc, but the technology and DSP even in "low end" brands has improved greatly since then which is why the sound quality is much better yet people thought the speakers back in the 90s sounded good to their ears generally speaking too!
The case point for calling certain brands of PA speakers "Trash" or "Inferior" and not up to par for DJs to use for events is essentially diminished heavily if not completely a false narrative today.

Here's right where it's at. It's about knowing how to properly use a speaker. Any speaker can blow or sound horrible if not used properly. Some companies will exaggerate the wattage that a speaker can produce. Some speakers because of the cheap price should tell you the company is exaggerating things.
