So, I bought a new computer and the only crapware that came installed was...

Microsoft Vista! :sqwink:

Yep, it came entirely without the normal crapware... no AOL, No Roxio, No Nero, No ANYTHING but the OS..... ( well except for a trial version of MS Office )

Imagine that.

yep now you try and get rid of it and put XP on it lol

You'll still manage to muck it up kid -- I have Faith... :sqlaugh:  :sqwink:

Vista is da BOMB!!!

Nah!!! I'm already running Sound Forge 9 without a glitch :D:D:D:D:D

Sound Forge 9 is new isn't it. If so it will work for sure. I don't know what version I have but it could be 8 maybe. It worked with xp but I haven't tried it yet with vista. I'm hoping. If it doesn't work I'd be happy to swap programs with you.

I've become too attached to it already :D:D:D:D:D

I'm running all Sony stuff on V64 -- Vegas, Sound Forge, Acid.

They say it doesn't work on V64 (even Sony says that) -- all I can say is, check out the last few videos I did :sqwink:

Be nice to the computer gods -- they'll be nice back. :)

Naw!
Put Beta of Win7 on it, or wait for the release version.

You may not like it dennis, but Vista's still a great OS.

trouble is vista isnt for the everyday user I get more and more newbies that keep telling me they have used it on a new system and have so many conflicts with the UAC that stopps them etc

and also a lot of thier old programs just for xp wont run correctly in vista

plus a community based group that gives away free computers that I am involved in wont get a free version of vista as they are getting free winxp...

so thats why we have so many complaints about vista
the average joe blow has no idea (not like you brainiacs)

so i'll stay with xp also (if I want to use vista, then i have one system sitting there getting dusty with it on)....

Compatability mode! It's your friend! ;)

Hell, you can even get Vista to run DOS if you use Virtual PC!
LOL

I hear that MS is about to a point that if you purchase one copy of Vista, you'll get a second one free! (Heard on the Jan 12 podcast of TWIT.)

hey my new Toshiba with Vista runs like a charm. Everything and even Rockit runs without a studder. I can remember how long service packs took to fix XP and within one Vista is awesome. Having made that statement I hate being in Beta Mode and held hostage. I dont look forward to the next Windows upgrade effort. Especially at the price Windows is charging for the professional versions plus office.

Of course the pc gods are going to be nice and cooperate with you because they know you know what time it is and they can't get over on you like they can some of the rest of us who don't have a clue.

well I know Sound Forge v9 Portable works like a dream for me :)

The average Joe has been so misinformed they can't make a decent decesion on Vista they hated it before they tried it.

Personally I much prefer XP but Vista is solid as a rock
