Begginning settup help

Hey I'm decently new to djing and I was wondering if you guys could help me before I go spend my money on a whole setup. I know a little bit about it and have messed around with friends and other peoples equipment. But I can tell you basicly what I want if you can help me with what will work and what i'll need.
I want to run this all through a computer
I want to use at least 1 vynyl
I want to use my ipod touch in the mix somehow
I was wondering if, after getting a mixer if i had the ipod would i still need to get another vynyl or cdj?
I also don't know what software to use, any help would be greatly apreciated thanks

A few questions:

Whats your budget
What kind of events are you planning on doing
Youre not serious about the Ipod are you? Good for cocktail, ceremony, remotes but not what I would prefer as a main playback. I think many will share this sentiment.

I don't have an extremely high budget but i don't want to say anything specific because if i have to save a little longer, I will
I just am probobly gonna do small parties, a lot of this is just learning too so i'll have it set up at home most of the time.
no, i don't have to use the ipod i just thought it would be fun

If this is going to be just for really small parties I might sugest the Fender Passport 250.... it's self contained and very affordable.... it's enough to get your feet wet at least.

Then whe you are ready and can afford it... I would look to the bigger systems.
