What I really miss is my 1976 Mecury Cougar XR7. That thing was a monster! Sure I only had the standard 351 Windsor, but damn I had a lot of fun with that car! She still had quite a bit of giddy up.
One time in the rain I locked up coming down a hill to a stop sign. My car just started to fishtall a bit so when I hit the little honda in front of me, it was the corner of my car that plowed into him. I pushed him into a mini van in front of him. The damages...I pushed the honda's rear bumper up to his back seat, essentially totaling the honda. The honda hit the minivan hard enough to pop open his lift gate. And my Cougar...not a scratch...I swear to god. Thankfully nobody was hurt, but I was laughing about that poor honda for days.
Here's a picture of somebody else's 1976 Cougar XR7 for reference. Now it's SUV's and family vans for me.
I do dream of buying a 1967 Volvo 1800s for my up coming mid-life crisis...coming very soon...I can feel it. I added a picture of one those as well, as not many people are familiar with the 1800s.
