Setup attire advice...

I always wear a pair of khaki shorts and a black Party on Wheels T-shirt that has my logo on the front pocket and on the back it has "Entertainment Staff". For casual summer gigs that may only change to a company golf shirt if it's outside, but anything indoors after 4pm gets either solid black slacks and company oxford or, if requested, a tux. The shorts and t-shirt are comfortable to work in and allow me maneuverability while setting up.

I don't see why it should matter what clothing is worn for setup and I have never been approached about this sort of issue. I tend to wear what I'm wearing that evening, mainly because I hate changing in bathrooms and I am the one who discusses the agenda with the venue staff. At the same time, I don't sweat enough to soak my clothes, so it's not an issue for me to be fully dressed. However, I do wait until after setup to do my makeup on hot, humid, or rainy days.

They Only Book Me for My Pimp Juice...

Loading DJ gear in a Kansas City summer is guaranteed to be less fun than anywhere else! Humidity is brutal, so I keep my loading clothes as light as possible. I wear khaki shorts and a thin white tee. I will sweat my skinny ass off.

I will be getting a custom polo soon, so thanks for the suggestion. If anyone is interested in a basic tee, vistaprint.com has specials that run (almost daily like junk mail...) on their business cards. Around once a month they will give a tee shirt away... all you pay is shipping.

For my pimp suit: black tux slacks and a black bartending shirt that I got from a banquet with a black tee for sweat. With black on black, especially if the bottom is straight-cut, one can avoid tucking in their shirts to allow for more breathing and air flow. Did anyone else ever notice how tucking in shirts produces a wedgie effect when wearing boxers? heh...
