I'm breathing just fine and the air at these heights is sweeter than candy!Color me immature. I wore the coat to Mobile Beat 2 yrs in a row. I dont wanna grow up Im a Toys r Us DJ I guess. Sometimes projecting a very stern view to our customers that might think we are supposed to provide fun and get confused. Taking ourselves too serious at times makes for a boring and very strict life. I try and enjoy tomorrow but if I spend all day today hating life, tomorrow will likely not be much better and certainly no more fun than today. Loosen the collar Rox ya might breathe a little easier in the open air.

Time and place. Your Island attire is appropriate...in HAWAII. But such casual attire at the VAST MAJORITY of Formal Wedding/Black Tie event (Wasting time addressing every minute, .001% possibility is useless) is inappropriate as would be a Pimp Costume or some other clown outfit.

I wear a tux at 99.9% of my weddings and most of my functions.
Had one last year that was outside, in the summer, and extremely casual.
the bride TOLD me to wear a Hawaiin shirt or polo shirt.
If I had worn a tux, I would have goine against the clients wishes, made the casually-dressed wedding party feel stupid, and looked like an idiot.
every client, every DJ, and every situation is different.
hence, the GRAY AREA in the logic.
the post was about BANNERS.
which is usually NOT something the client thinks to ask us about.
so it is OUR choice, based on OUR feelings.
thanks Chuck for the thoughts. I suppose Im simply responding to the merry go round threads which go for 500 pages with two sides and nothing gained. If it makes one feel better then I guess its good for them.

I said, "...expecting to be seen as appropriate or professional, is wrong, incorrect, and worthy of judgment."
If the theme suggested it, I would. Of course I wouldn't look as good or as natural as you.
However, I wouldn't wear my Hard Rock flare at other venues. I wouldn't wear a WWJD t-shirt to a Mitzvah, and I would wear a costume suggesting "prostitution is happenin up in dis biotch", either. I have worn costumes equally pimpalicious to a Halloween show.

Talk about your lowest common denominator. If that is your barometer, and I doubt it is, I have misjudged you. Finding an idiot to take an ignorant position is not very difficult but it doesn't validate his position or your claim that finding him negates the judgment of the act as wrong.
...and by choosing to do so, they reveal their "LOOK AT ME," disrespectful, immature, and selfish nature.
Certainly not to a disrespectful, immature, and selfish individual.
My four year old niece has the same attitude. Go in the time out chair.
:sqerr:I guess when you can't defend your position, try and offend your opposition.Look, let's make this easy and short.......

Fail + Fail = Fail
Was I incorrect that when you quoted my post you were responding to it?Rox, what, pray tell, are you talking about? I never HAD OR EXPRESSED any particular position in this clothing debate of yours. The only opinion I have expressed on this thread is that it's not my style to use banners at private events. So.....um,....HUH? :sqerr:
:sqerr:Was I incorrect that when you quoted my post you were responding to it?
If not, I am completely incapable of making sense of these forums.
P.S. I did fail to put the smiles in, and for that I apologize. It should have read:
I guess when you can't defend your position, try and offend your opposition.
Fail + Fail = Fail:sqerr:
P.S.S. It ain't my debate.
:huh:I used your post because it was the last one I read on the subject. Mine was a funny ( or at least I thought so ) directed at the debate in general.
However, your post 1) Stated that I had a position to defend, and 2) I failed at it. Since I didn't have a position, I couldn't have failed to defend one.
Therefore, your reply didn't make sense.
But hey, stay grumpy.
