Seriously, without seeing the exact wording of your contracts I can't/won't comment with specific recommendations.
But to allow the arbitrary conditions, requirements, or demands of a non-party to have such effect is abnormal, especially in this type of relationship.
Certainly, more spophisticated, complex and clearly detailed circumstances might warrant such conditions but I cannot see that in this matter.
It seems the real problem is that the people you dealing with (from the venue)
are not the people who OWN the venue
or the people who wrote the agreement to begin with.
All they know is...
whomever hired THEM told them to make sure all the DJ's stick to the rules.

That's one possibility.
Another might just be that he is dealing with a venue that treats every event, client, and event professional as just another pain in the rump and merely an exercise in getting through it. After getting the money they turn into tyrants and care only about getting the floors mopped and their staff off the clock. I have a couple such venues in my market. One that even continues to recommend us even though I have politely asked them to refrain from doing so.
If asked, I have no qualms relating my horrible experiences with those generic event factories. My clients deserve and receive complete and honest disclosure.

we had a "tyrant" venue owner who installed an AC cutoff switch in the kitchen, so he could kill the power for any DJ who went 2 minutes over their end time. He also used to charge the b/g $100 if they arrived late at the hall. He had a big heart attack and doesn't run the place anymore.

A short post-event report.
The overall event was good...it poured rain almost the whole afternoon. That was more difficult to work around than anything else.
As I hoped (and suspected) the venue did not really follow their own guidelines. I was able to get into the room about 1:45 early (written contract was 1 hour), I did not use cord covers to secure the wires (required in the contract) instead I used bungee cords to tie all cables to the speaker stand legs and kept them taught between. I was even offered a meal (after the written contract said 3 times that food service was for guests only)...I declined.
Overall the event ran about 45 minutes late...a combo of the photos taking longer after the wedding, the venue being slow to clear the buffet line from the dance floor, and the B&G wanting to push events. Unfortunately, those 45 minutes came right out of the "party" portion of the evening.
At the end, I was setup to have the last dance at 11:25p and then do the "exit"...but the wedding coordinator from the venue told me that I could go over by 2 or 3 songs....to finish up some requests. So, played the requests...and got to about 11:29. That is when the catering manager (boss of the coordinator) told me to play the last song and shut it down. I tried to negotiate for the exit, told them that I would go until 11:36...but I was shut down. I lost the momentum of the exit over 6 minutes...and the confusion of the venue staff. I was ticked!
