Rockit 5

Rick, I have a problem on my backup computer. I shut everything down like normal, and when I turned the computer back on, and started Rockit, it is now giving me a run time error, and will not start. I deleted it, and started to reinstall it, not its not accepting my log in info. Will I need a new user name and password to reinstall it? I still have the 4.2 on the back up, plus, until I uninstalled it, the 5.0. Please help. Thanks.

"Deleted" as in properly uninstalled which cleans up the system I hope. If not, and you just deleted files in the Rockit directory you would have been leaving garbage in the registry and a re-install would not have cleaned that up.

Everything is completely deleted. There is no registry files for the 5.0 in the computer at all.
 
True for Rockit itself, but bad practice. Windows 7 logs all kinds of things about installed apps, compatibility settings, install/uninstall info, files types that open, etc. Just trying to help.

Rick would have to answer for the installation login info issue, but I'm pretty sure that the name field is case sensitive if that helps.

Thanks Scott. Any help is great. I appreciate it. I forgot about all the registry files. When you said to check it, I did. Again, I appreciate it.

As to the runtime error:

Rockit doesn't just decide to break one day (unless you neglected to make your monthly beer sacrifice to the computer gods) :)

Generally, it involves installing some new software or driver, that is in someway incompatible with Rockit (e.g. using resources that Rockit needs). Of course, everyone says this is not the case :D But to date, that has been the cause every time...

It usually involves a program or driver that has access to the sound card, or video subsystem (DirectX).

i have v4.2 where do i go the upgrade link for the new version 5
im ready to pay and give it a run

V5 requires an upgrade fee, and a full version download -- the trial version is only a demo.

You have to purchase the upgrade (on the purchase page), to get the full download.
 
used it on fri and sat last week and will be using it this coming fri again it worked great , i had one issue with sound waiving up and down after runing for 2.5 hrs , closed played cds on cdj restarted and it worked just fine love it , any beat matching in this program future? how many heineken needed to get it rolling?

Hey Rick in 5.0 library management how do you maintain a library, but delete all of the songs in it. I wanted to empty the folder and rebuild it. In 4.2 it was easy, but I have not been able to figure this out on 5.0. Thanks in advance.

Right click on the list in Lib Mgr, and click Delete All :)
 
Is there a way to change the playlist folder? It's defaulted to V5, but I would like to point it to another folder. Changing the startup folder setting doesn't seem to pass through to the other folder settings.

Also, I really like the Dark Grey skin, but would like to expand downward the automix queue box to display more tracks. There are needed buttons below it. Any ideas for doing this cleanly? I want to keep search/request/A&B areas. The main library viewing box can be reduced, but I don't know if this is practical given that button bar in between.
