Let's put this in perspective... :D


Since I design most of the original skins, it depends on how much (and what kind) of beer I have when I do them. That's how I choose the colors :)

I ain't kiddin' either.


So for example, if I was drinking Sam Adams, there's a good chance the next skin would be darker in color. If it's Coor's Light, it's gonna be lighter... :sqlaugh: :rofl:



Being as I'm in the middle of building V5 right now (not to mention some eggnog from my dear friends), the odds of me doing anybody a skin, are about the same as me winning the lottery. Then again, for the right amount of Sam Adams (delivered please, I do not like to drive), I might be able to find a couple hours... :D

I got to playing around with the Two Tone skin and after hearing Madness's request about the 'History' button, I thought I'd tweak the skin to actually show it live on the skin. I have it placed in the lower-right hand corner, where I think the 'Request' box was previously located.

A funny thing is occuring now. When playing, the history is also showing up in the 'Automix' que box. The status text doesn't reflect anything being loaded in it, but each song that goes into history is now loading into the automix box. It even allows me to select those songs and place them into a player.

If I turn off the 'history' library and just access it thru the push button, it works fine.

This is RockIt 4.2. Any ideas?

The Two Tone skin was a V4.0 thing. Many of the changes I did in the skinning system over the course of the move to V4.2, may not be reflected in those older skins...

Many of them probably need to be updated to the latet skiinning ref.

I tracked that issue down this morning, and it is in fact a bug, erm I mean undocumented feature :D

It was something I added for 4.2 I think, to handle when the popup list was visible or not, and I obviously copied and pasted the section of code, and forgot to change the list name :sqerr: :sqembarrassed:

It will only happen if the History list and AutoMix list are visible on the skin together. The songs don't actually go in the background AutoMix queue, just the display list on the skin. I fixed for the next release :)

Anything I can do in my V4.2 to make it work? After inserting the History onto the skin, I do enjoy having it there.

Nah, nothing you can do for 4.2.

I'm too deep into the new code right now. I'd literally have to setup a machine, just to do a patch for that...


I'd use the popup window for one of them in the meantime, if you need both on the screen at the same time.

Also, what about the jukebox question above? I'd like to have all three displaying on a screen (not a popup).

Just trying to get you more views here. You know everyone likes to see if we'll start to argue about it. hahaha lol

This is all Booch's fault -- this whole mess man!

Booch is my #1 beta tester, and he totally missed this :sqerr:


I asked him about the jukebox thing, and he denied having anything to do with it -- can you believe! :sqeek:


So, since I have to do damage control -- No, you cannot put the jukebox on a skin -- it is a separate process :)

It's all good, I thought the same, but maybe some day you can make it work the other way too. ?? :sqrolleyes:

Minor version upgrades are free, major version upgrades will cost 3 or 4 sheep or goats :sqlaugh: :rofl:

Actually, we charge the price difference for major version upgrades. For example, the V3 series cost $99.95, and the V4 series is $129.95, so it's $29.95 to upgrade from 3 to 4 :)

Next version will be 5, and I have not yet determined the price (have to see how beer prices are this coming year)... :D

If they are, that would be great -- then I wouldn't need to raise my rates... :D

On the other hand, my heating bill keeps getting higher...



All things considered, I started selling Rockit around 2000 for $120, then dropped the price to $99 for a sale (and kept it there for awhile). Now I'm currently at $129 -- not too shabby -- dinner and a movie will usually set you back more, than a tool to do your job and make you money... Plus, you get to listen to me ramble on about everything under the Sun... :sqcool: :sqwink: :sqbiggrin:
