Rock Band Parties

Actually funny to see this! I am currently working with a friend of mine to bring this idea to the local bars! Just starting the research on it. It looks like a lot of fun, and also like it has a huge possibility to replace karaoke in this area!

So far we are planning on offering tournaments and also just open nights for people to come "jam out" instead of traditional karaoke. We plan on having 3 smaller 15" monitors for each instrument user to view, and then also have a bigger screen and rear projector for the audience. Also used will be my LED light setup which is all DMX controlled to offer that "true band experience"

I have not done Rock band or Guitar Hero, but I did do a Madden XBOX 360 event at a wedding.... and I have a Wii Night set up in March for a church group.

I don't mean to get off topic here, well maybe it isn't.....

Papa, I don't have any experience with the XBOX 360. We are thinking of using this gaming counsel for our Rock Band parties. Have you seen the difference between the Elite XBOX 360 and the regular? We are thinking of going with the Elite counsel because of possibly better graphics??? Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

I don't think it has any better graphics, just a bigger hard drive, and a few other features.... but I am 99% sure that the graphics are no different.

This sounds (on paper) like another big FAD.

Then again--- 15 years ago, Karaoke sounded like a big fad to me! (I was wrong of course)

Here's an idea........Guitar Hero or Rock Band night wearing Snuggies!!!

One of my concerns is how well the guitars and drums will handle the beating of nightly use and drunk customers. I would think I would need backup equipment. I can see some guy smashing the guitar on the ground and then me going to jail for the beat down.

I would like to see the bar offer t-shirts for Rock Band night.

LOL That would be an interesting twist to the night! :sqwink:

I also thought this might be a fad, and was skeptical about wanting to do it at first, then I found out people around here are CRAZY about this game! There are "bands" that have shirts made up and everything! They play this game in each others basements on weekends.

The bars I have visited about this have been very positive in wanting to do something with this! You have to remember, there isn't much to do in South Dakota besides these kinds of things! :sqwink:

This is something that we have addressed in our early planning stages, there are also some reviews of the equipment online (can't remember where I read them) about how the instruments won't take a lot of "abuse". We are going to carry a backup set of instruments with us beings they really aren't that expensive.

Rock Band

It has been a great upsell for cocktail hours. I have not seen any bars in central Jersey offering torunaments or anything yet. I have used Guitar hero, xbox and WIi

The cables from XBOX must be "SPECIAL" cause they want 49.99! :sqerr:

LOL... Best Buy wants $134.99 for "Deluxe" 10' HDMI cables..... trust me, the ones from monoprice work just work just fine.
